Is the Draigowing dead?

Recommended Posts

Ain't the common consensus to split the psycannons into 2 squads so that you can shoot 2 different units instead of 1 unit? But yes, the apothecary has always done good things for me. But he's 75 points so I've taken him out of my list for now

Yeah to prevent overkill. Mind you, Purifiers can do the same thing cheaper, you just miss out on Relentless.

When you pair then with a div libby, 16 twin linked psycannons are beast, esp if you get such things as outdoor ignore cover or overwatch on ballistic skill.. it's a unit your enemy will hate

Or just use a cheap Henchmen Psyker for 'Prescience', or Coteaz/Inquisitor if you wanna put 'Perfect Timing' on them. If you're gonna take a Libby, I'd take a Mastery 3 Telepathy one. You really need to roll 'Invis' for the Paladins, otherwise they're too easily killed off. It's arguably more important than re-rolls to hit.

How is Draigo wing now tha the new codex is out?

Still bad.  Probably worse, since the Paladins didn't go down in points at all, but now have to pay for melee weapon upgrades.  At least the Apothecary's price went down to where it should be, but that isn't enough to offset the other problems with Paladins in general.

Presumably, draigo wing is dead now that he doesn't make paladins troops.

I'm not really broken up about it, and it really has nothing to do with how paladins operate. It's just that I have very strong dislike of the suffix "-wing" when used to refer to an army made predominantly of one unit. Deathwing and Ravenwing are actual names of Dark Angel companies. Draigowing, Loganwing, wraithwing, etc are not. Blame the Dark Angel in me :P
