Just started reading ADB's Night Lords trilogy (very good it is too!) so maybe that's where the inspiration came from. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/deangoldsmith/NightLordI.jpg He will be my 'Kill Team' leader for a campaign that my local gaming group has recently started using the Heralds of Ruin rule set.
