deathhasdignity
I have a vindicator sprue thats been sitting around for years, I just got to thinking with the repressors upgraded armour and now limited fire points the forge world model isnt really that fitting. I could use the sprue to bulk out a rhino chassis, extra armour sides and top section to add height, keep the vindie front as it looks more bulky than a standard rhino, but patch in the gun mount hole with the rhino doors and perhaps add a visor opening I'll also have a chimera dozer blades should fit ok and I think use the two stalker front arnour plates where lights would be and drop down lights to next level just above the dozer height Cut down and use the original rhino visor to give two fire points, mount a storm bolter and flamer on top and add a few bits of Sororitas iconography and we are done See's to me like a viable idea and fun to do, other suggestions appreciated Might make a nice command transport - shame you can put repentia in them - be a safe home DHD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/ Share on other sites
Smurfben
I had a load of vindicator bits lying around too when I first stared my repressor project. The problem I found was getting the fire points into the chassis. It should have 3 points on each side and a top hatch. Since the vindicator top doesn't have a top hatch I decided to leave it. I wish you the best of luck with the build though. I love seeing new takes on vehicles. I agree with you that the FW repressor isn't quite right :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3726913 Share on other sites
deathhasdignity
The New FAQ lists it as only having 2 fire points, I was toying with one either side or perhaps trying to work the razorback small hatch into the build some how Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3727028 Share on other sites
Smurfben
I'm sort of confident that the FAQ on forgeworld is old and out of date. The repressor was included in one of the recent books and includes stuff like adamantine will etc... It also has the fire points I mentioned. Can someone else confirm my suspicions? deathhasdignity
Hi Smurfben, yes you are correct it seems, there is a more recent FAQ adds adamantium will, foudn a friend who has the book as well - might still have a punt at a conversion as it can carry any sister unit now as well, top hatch I can add easy enough just need to work out side fire points Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3727895 Share on other sites
Smurfben
That's ok, good luck with your conversion. I didn't want you to robbed out of fire points :p It's what makes the Repressor so awesome! Duke Danse Macabre
I'm sort of confident that the FAQ on forgeworld is old and out of date. The repressor was included in one of the recent books and includes stuff like adamantine will etc... It also has the fire points I mentioned. Can someone else confirm my suspicions? You are right,m it has a new Entry in Imperial Armour which sees it with 3 fire points per side and two at the front. To be honest if you want to convert one though, I would just say break out the plastic card, its not allot of work to build a box on top of a rhino, its a fairly easy convert, the vindicators extra armour will do 90% of the rest. deathhasdignity
Yes, pretty much, bodies not glued yet, like to spray prime first, but so far I'm happy with it http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/deathhasdignity/photo1_zps66a9a12a.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3733109 Share on other sites
oreaper84
thats a good looking repressor, i did the same thing with the visor slits for fire points on my repressor, your front looks very clean Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3733173 Share on other sites
deathhasdignity
Thanks oreaper84 I had originally just used a rhino side-door and visor slit to block up the gun mount hole on the Vindicator front It looked ok, but not quite right, so I wrapped a thin bit of plasticard around the mounts and used a piece of sprue to hold it in place and make a tidy finish to the hull front, which also added to the increased bulk look of the front Same on the box I had intended it to be straight, but angling the left and right fire points just looked so much better, but proved harder to make but was worth the effort Stormbolter is stuck onto a cut down vindicator targeter mount, it wouldn't stay upright in the hole (short spindle), so I magnetized the spindle to a larger magnet in the hull - worked a treat I'm thinking / planning to use it as a fire base for my dominions, so loudhailer and sisters bling required to complete! Very much enjoying the project DHD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3733314 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
Nice work on the conversion, looking forward to seeing it finished. The Fire Points are very well done, and overall it looks like a tougher lass than the old Rhino. Afrikprophet
I was just about to post seeking ideas for a repressor kitbash/scratch built. Thanks for showing your work! I didn't know if the chimera dozer blade would look cool or not but yours is great. deathhasdignity
Just felt the vindicator blade a bit to large for the feel of the vehicle, I've since the last picture cut the blade mount back to the hydraulics and mounted it closer to the hull, looks better in my eye Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292855-repressor-conversion-idea/#findComment-3737200 Share on other sites
