Dread
Landraider, or variant there of, launches hammernators at it and they beat it down. Keep a unit of interceptors and/or DreadKnights in flanking positions to keep them frazzled. Then enjoy the creamy filling on your next turn, I love to eat fish sticks with ketchup personally. march10k
Dreadknights should excel at pulling the building down, yo! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292881-the-bastion-how-do-you-guys-tackle-it/page/2/#findComment-3739977 Share on other sites

Grand Master Caloth
The flamers at the fire points to hurt the folks inside no longer works. You can also no longer assault the building to throw grenades thru the windows. You either have to pull he building down, or go in after them Except there are no rules for "going in after them", even in the stronghold expansion, unless you are fighting in a multipart building or you can get into the battlements (jump infantry/deep strike onto them) and fight your way down Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292881-the-bastion-how-do-you-guys-tackle-it/page/2/#findComment-3740264 Share on other sites
Kenderleech
You mean except to use the other, as modeled access point, the door? And anyone who models their bastion without a door, I would make define the door. IndigoJack
How are you going inside the building? It's occupied and controlled by your opponent's forces, you can't go inside of it. How would you stay at least 1" away while inside (because you can't embark in the assault phase). No one this even brings up how you fit your guys inside. Bastions have a capacity of 20 models and broadsides are extremely bulky. If he has 3 of them in there, that's 15 for determining capacity. That leaves you with 5 guys that can go inside, assuming he didn't bring any drones or have an IC attached. Reclusiarch Darius
One Dreadknight would do the trick. He's Extremely Bulky, so he counts as 5 models. And he'll make short work of the Broadsides. IndigoJack
buuuuut monsterous creatures can't go inside buildings. And again, there are no rules for entering a building occupied by your opponent. Kenderleech
ok, forget everything i said earlier in the thread. appearantly the ONLY way to get the broadsides is to tear the building down around them. Dread
That's a good point. We've still haven't found anything in the rules saying MC's, walkers and bikes can't go up floors now. If anyone else has, please post the page number. march10k
Melta torpedo from orbit? LOL...DKs are wounds-based, so slap a couple henchmen in around their base, and you get intervening unit cover, then give them shrouding (or, hell, if you get it, invisibility, and you don't need the henchmen) and they'll make it across the board to punch the building to death. If anyone else has, please post the page number. Yeah, we were surprised during a game the week after release of 7e, that we couldn't find anything to prevent Bikes from going up to the top of multi-level ruins. Was odd as heck to watch the Dark Angels Ravenwing Black Knights (or whatever they're called) assaulting the IG command squad on the top floor, but we couldn't find anything to prevent it, as counterintuitive as that is. Sorry for the slight off-post. Kenderleech
New rule for multi level ruins. I call it the Cat rule. If it fits, it sits.
