Bunter
What role can a Jump Pack unit fill in a DA list that is not covered better using the Ravenwing? I love the models and really want to include a unit of these fellas but I can't think of anything that they do that makes use of their points, even a slim justification would be enough for me to happliy field these guys, but as far as I can tell the RW bikes just do it better... aura_enchanted
They can assault units in multi level structures. You can also field them out of a land raider with a tech or a chaplain as an anti cc deterrent for your lr. Quite a nice idea when u think about it. FerociousBeast
Deep strike them behind enemy lines and let them run amok, tying up nasty shooting units in cc. SlickSamos
Their best use is two Flamers and a Power Maul then assault infantry holding multi-leveled buildings as bikes can't go upstairs :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292882-jump-pack-unit-in-a-da-list/#findComment-3727440 Share on other sites
Azoriel
Bodyguard for jump pack wearing company masters. (Ravenwing can arguably do the same job, but not as cheaply nor in units so large.) Bunter
Taking layered objectives is very valid point, glad there was some reasoning I missed to make them worthwhile. I don't play competitively and take stuff mostly based on if I like the models but ti is still nice to know they have a purpose.. been a long time sinc I have played 40k and my old DA army was from the days of the 3rd edition codex, which was absolutly terrible but I still went for the DA as the colour scheme and look to the army is what I like the most.. Master Avoghai
Attacking unit in H2H? RW bike squadrons are not made for CC, even the sgt doesn't have 2 CCW ! Like other said : flaming enemy units at cheap cost.
