Vulkans Finest
Hey all I have run into a problem. My friends were kind enough to let me use a primarch in an apocalypse game we are doing. I saw the stomp rules. And wow! On a 6 the model is just removed! So what would happen to a primarch? Is the primarch just dead or what? GreyCrow
I would assume that even for a Primarch, being crushed by a Titan would seriously kill him :p Or if he isn't killed, he is so wounded that he can't fight anymore ! helterskelter
I'd ask Angron about that :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292919-stomp-and-primarchs/#findComment-3728464 Share on other sites
JeffTibbetts
I'd ask Angron about that Angron's opponent clearly rolled a 4. Even Primarchs have a 5 in 6 chance of not dying when they chopped in half with a Reaper Chainsword. Lucky. Vulkans Finest
it was only a c'tan shard so I am calling bull. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292919-stomp-and-primarchs/#findComment-3728539 Share on other sites
JeffTibbetts
Arent' c'tan shards fragments of living gods of almost inexhaustible power? Seems legit to me, man. Not trying to argue or anything, but D weapons are universally very nasty stuff. Vulkans Finest
Yes they are FRAGMENTS of gods. Primarchs are demi-gods. And I think it is stupid if any gargantuan can just crush them with barely and problem considering angron just wrestled a scout titan to the ground. And then something smaller and weaker than that can just crush a primarch. And then something smaller and weaker than that can just crush a primarch. Yeah, I can see your point... Really I can. But, honestly, I think it wouldn't be much fun to play with them on the tabletop if their rules totally matched all the crazy stuff they get up to in the books. One thing I like to remember is that, just because you're removing a model in a game, that doesn't mean that person is actually dead even within the fluff. Marines may be incapacitated by their wounds, but after the battle they are fixed up and returned to the front with a shiny new bionic bit or whatever. Even a mighty primarch, a demigod by any standards, can be laid low by something like a massive machine of war crushing them or a fragment of a god unleashing barely understood energies at them (they eat stars, man!), but that doesn't mean they're dead. Plus, they have a one in 5 chance of walking away from a titan's crushing foot on the tabletop. Angron is a big, crazy dude. Is it a heroic feat for him to take on a Warhound? Oh yeah. That just makes it all the cooler that he pulled it off. If every primarch walked around doing stuff like that every day it wouldn't seem like such a big deal (okay, they kind of do, but they can also die in the books). It was a risky move that could have ended with his serious injury or even death. That's the stuff from which hero stories gain their potency. They are superhuman, but they are NOT immortal. If something's going to kill them, it had better be bringing the D on the tabletop.
