Need some rule clarifications

Hello, fellow forum users. I need some help on some rule clarifications. (English is not my native language. Sometimes it gets very confusing...)

1. On Orbital Assault RoW. It states that "Units that cannot be deployed via Deep Strike, either by having access to the rule themselves or because they cannot be carried in a transport vehicles that has it (infantry in Drop Pods, for example), may not be chosen as part of that army."

I get that it essentially prevents all vehicles but Dreadnaughts, but what's confusing me is that, If I purchase Drop Pods as dedicated transports for some squads, say Recon Squad armed with Recon armour (thus gaining Infiltrate), can it deploy normally, or infiltrate, or outflank later while said Drop Pod Deep Strike as an empty can? or does it must Deep Strike within Drop Pod?

2. On some squads' wargear option. Some squads, like SoH's Reaver or RG's Mor Deythan, have strange wargear option.... like "Each model in the squad may/must take one of the following options." and right below that "Rather than taking an option from the previous list, on in every X models in the squad may take one of the following options instead."

So, does it mean that 1) I can equip all of them say, Combi-weapon AND equip one in every X models with meltagun or 2) I either equip all of them with Combi-weapon OR equip one in every X models with meltagun (so no combi-weapon at all)

Thank you for your help.

The last of the three limitations listed for the Orbital Assault RoW is "All units purchased dedicated transports in this army list must begin the game transported in them."

Which means that the only units which have the option to start the game on the board are those which have the Deep Strike rule, but do not have transports. Basically Assault Squads, Terminators (which gain DS from the RoW), jump pack equipped Destroyers, and the like.

As for #2 - it means that you can have a limited number (averagely 1 in 3 or 5) with a unique/special weapon, however the rest of the squad van have the other choices available (very much like SM Scouts being able to have 1 heavy weapon per 5 and the rest with say sniper rifles or shotguns...) - hope that clarifies :)

The trick is, in case of Reavers, it's exactly opposite to Scouts. Options for scouts are "Any model may replace", and below "One scout", so they do not cancel each other. For Reavers, it says "Each model in the squad", and below "Rather than taking option from previous list". So my understanding is the following:

- if you decide to take banestrikes or volkites - you have to equip the entire squad with them, which is surprisingly expensive.

- or you can ignore banestrikes and volkites, but take pair of specials instead.
