Jolemai
Which box/kit has an easily obtainable sheathed sword for a marine-sized model? Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292942-sheathed-sword/ Share on other sites
CommodusXIII
You have a few options. EBay or a third-party bits retailer would be your best best, so you don't have to buy an entire box for one little part. The Sternguard set has a sheathed power sword, but you'll have to cut the arm away. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwM1gxNjAw/z/oEkAAOxyJX1TBRpH/$_35.JPG The Scout Bikers set has one too: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTI1OVgxNjAw/z/qzMAAOxyepRRu5dy/$T2eC16dHJGYFFlOUQ!fcBRu5d)TRIw~~60_35.JPG The Black Templar bits set comes with a sheathed power sword. It's covered in Templar iconography, so you'll have to cut/GS that away. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqQOKm8E4TKjQZhIBOQ0klm)+!~~0_35.JPG On the other side of the spectrum, the Catachan Command sprue has a rather plain-looking one:http://www.letthedicedecide.co.uk/ekmps/shops/letthedice/images/imperial-guard-catachan-sheathed-sword-7182-p%5Bekm%5D288x288%5Bekm%5D.jpg If you're looking for a more Roman look, you can track down a gladius from Forge World: http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/images/fw_mkii_mkiii_pw_sheathed_gladius_large.jpg Your best option is to look towards Warhammer Fantasy. The Chaos Warriors set has one:http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/2/427527_sm-.jpg There's probably a crap-ton in the various Empire and Bretonian sets too. Ovidius Incertus
I believe the FW Severin Loth honor guard comes with a sheathed sword. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292942-sheathed-sword/#findComment-3729422 Share on other sites
GrandMagnus
I wouldnt recommend the black templar one for a standard PA marine, Ive tried and it looks far too bulky in my opinion. But yes, check out the Empire range they have a lot of sheathed swords and daggers as well as the Sevrin Loth guard. Hyaenidae
I use the Catachan sword, and cut it's end at an angle to create a double edged appearance, then sand the edges til' it's rounded. Works like a charm. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292942-sheathed-sword/#findComment-3729442 Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
I believe the FW Severin Loth honor guard comes with a sheathed sword. In fact, it comes with two! Sized for attachment to power armour waists! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292942-sheathed-sword/#findComment-3729757 Share on other sites
