Brother Mitch
hi guys, Just looking for your methods of transportation for your army and how good it is/ how much it costs. I have a growing Guard force that recently got 2 Russes and a Basilisk as well as my Valkyrie. What's the best option for taking them about as I travel to my friends to battle quite a lot. Thanks for the help brother Mitch Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292981-protection-for-travelling-astra-militarum-armies/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
I use the GW cases mostly, though I did get some third party foam trays that fit more models in as that obviously helps a lot with Guard armies :P Also good for general storage too. For tanks they can quickly take up space especially the more awkward shape ones such as Bassies. I use the old stalwart of boot and shoe boxes with foam and bubble wrap rescued from packaging for these, you can pack the models tightly so they don't move and get damaged. If it's just a single extra box I can carry it or put it in a bag but if there's several extras then I carefully put them in a kit bag for safe transport. hornywingythingy
I use a mix of GW cases and some kr cases in a backpack for when I'm on my motorbike, but that new cheap army case they had on BOLS looked good, will try to find a link. lionofjudah
I have a kr case for my vulture... I add a lot of bling to my tanks so the chimera slots are empty as they are a snug fit. I have a big craftsman tool box for the majority of my AFVs and am trying to decide on the Battlefoam trays for infantry and the valks... Safe transport is key my friend;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292981-protection-for-travelling-astra-militarum-armies/#findComment-3729992 Share on other sites
march10k
I have an army transport motor pool case, and two battlefoam ones. The battlefoam is nicer but I usually just take the army transport one with me. It usually holds exactly what I need minus one or two models. One battlefoam case is too small, the other one is a special one I bought for hauling around four valkyries (plus tanks and sentinels). Vash
Armytransport bag. I buy additional foam trays for all my miniatures. So when I head out, I take the foam trays with the miniatures I am going to use for the battle ahead. It might be expensive to buy all the foams and perhaps two bags, but in the end you won't regret it if you are one of those persons who cares about his miniatures. Brother Mitch
Thanks for your replies Brothers. It's a hard area to decide. Think to begin with I will just get the foam inserts but it doesn't tell me anywhere the dimensions of them, at least not on KR website. I think the best aspect is the Valkyrie foam as it's the most annoying to transport in my eye. thanks for your input.
