Kierdale
I'm not too keen on the heavy flamer model in the command squad kits: it looking to me like little more than a normal flamer with another pipe stuck awkwardly on top. Has anyone scratchbuilt their own or have ideas for alternative designs? Thunderhawk3015
I would look at using the space marine flamer w/some tweaks. I agree that the command squad one looks a little wonkey. David Ravel
It was not because I don't like it, but to have a magnetized flamer with the promethium tank somewhere. But maybe something along those line + a hose somewhere would suit you. PS: Sorry about the crap on the guy, he fell down where he shouldn't when I just applied glue, lol. PPS: Also sorry about the album photo thing, I have no idea how to share pictures from my computer to the forum. If someone could enlighten me... Sviar
That is a great conversion, David Ravel. I have no idea how to share pictures from my computer to the forum. If someone could enlighten me... You first pick out a picture in your photo album. When you found a picture that you want to share with the rest of us, you left click it two times and the picture will appear bigger. By now you will notice a little magnifier. Proceed to right click the picture. You will now see a few options for you to choose, on the screen you will read View sizes: Thumbernail * Small * Meduim * Large. Choose Medium. When the picture appear you right click it and choose the bottom option: Examen component (roughly translated, I don't have a English OS). You will see a window appear with bar codes. You will see a text highlighted in blue. The blue highlighted text should begin with "img src =" and the the B&C address. Right click that blue highlighted text. Choose the third option called Copy link address. Now look up a thread that you want to post your pictures in. Below the smiley faces options button, there will be "Image" button. When you click that, it will request a URL. Now paste that blue highlighted text that you copied. Click OK and a photo will appear like this one: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293026-build-a-better-heavy-flamer/#findComment-3730757 Share on other sites
David Ravel
Sorry for the hijack but thanks for this bit of information ! As far as the flamer goes, you could probably do more like put hoses and what not. I didn't do it because as I said, it's magnetized. CoffeeGrunt
I just use Photobucket personally, for I am an idiot and like programs that do everything for me. I'll admit that the Heavy Flamer looks a bit silly, but seems to suit the Imperial, "1=Melta, 2 strapped together=Multimelta." Kierdale
Thanks for the suggestions. David, yours is particularly nice, though it's the muzzle of the stock heavy flamer that I have the problem with. That said, your underslung promethium tank idea is hereby stolen! :D A bit of googling found me these two conversions: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gavin.winspear/images/Imperial-Guards/40k-IMPERIAL-GUARD-2-heavy-flamers-2.jpg One basically two flamers mounted side by side (as CoffeeGrunt suggested), the other using a spare heavy flamer from a sponson/hull/Chimera. The latter idea I think I'll use, along with the underslung tank. David Ravel
The one on the left for a heavy flamer is nice indeed ! With the under-tank and some cable, it's gonna be a blast. For cable, do you know about the tentacle maker of green stuff something company ? I buyed it and its great. It can make great cable. Kierdale
Yes, I've seen those (particularly in the Chaos forums!). For the moment I have a lot of guitar wire to use up though. I might get one of the tentacle/cable makers (or try to make my own) sometime in the future. CoffeeGrunt
We're I a better scartch builder, I'd base it off the Incinerator from Fallout. A true beast that baby is... FashaTheDog
I always liked the Krieg one; similar to the normal, but overall, just a larger (longer than the model is tall) and bulkier version of the normal. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/DefaultFW/xlarge/dkkflam.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293026-build-a-better-heavy-flamer/#findComment-3732011 Share on other sites
CaptainHelion
For conceptual reference, I present the Adepta Sororitas heavy flamer. Obviously there would be some differences, but it might be worth looking at. For inspiration, if nothing else. http://i.imgur.com/G54YmD5.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293026-build-a-better-heavy-flamer/#findComment-3732248 Share on other sites
