The "red: you chose for all the weapons looks rather orange to me. I tend to prefer darker reds instead of the orange-y ones. As I said though, that is just my own taste. Great job so far. Perhaps try the modern equivalent of dark flesh as a base and then highlight with a mix of dark flesh and blood red. It should look like a darker, more muted red, but will still have the warmth of the colour to give richness to the miniature's colour scheme. Hope that helps.
