fw_haakon
Hi hi, my name's Vanja and after lurking in the forum for quite a bit of time I've decided to surface (at least a little bit). I present you my DA successor chapter: The Gatekeepers. 2 Heavy weapon marines. http://i1154.photobucket.com/albums/p539/fw_haakon/Miniatures/2014-06-12002659.jpg http://i1154.photobucket.com/albums/p539/fw_haakon/Miniatures/2014-06-12003036.jpg I have more at home but I've decided to start with this 2 guys (More to come next days). I'm in the process to cook up some fluff around them (especially around the name). I hope this little teaser will get your interest. fw_haakon
Hey thanks for the thumbs up! I admit that I had a lot of ppl telling me about the Ultra Angels or Dark Marines (Both viable names actually... :D ). About DW and RW it's a great dilemma. My chapter's heraldry it's actually 4 coulors (Green-Blue for the armor, White-Black for the chapter Pauldron). In the fluff I am building up for the Chapter I immagine them to be a successor chapter fleet-based that patrol the rim of the sol system together with the imperial fists. (Thus the name: Gatekeepers) This "honor" has been depicted as a black and white gate. So I was thinking of keeping this scheme also for DW and RW. In order to make myself bipolar I was thinking: DW Armor: Black Helmets: White Trims: Caliban Green RW Armor: White/Gray Helmets: Black Trims: Festering Blue I really would love comments! Ciao Vanja P.s. Does anyone know what's the equivalent today for the old OLD Festering Blue? (We are talking about colors that were out with the 2nd edition of WK40k) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293232-vanjas-gatekeepers/#findComment-3735031 Share on other sites
Cactus
I adore the idea of a Dark Angel successor guarding the approaches to Terra. Who could they be waiting for? If you want a match for any of the old GW paints check out Coat D'Arms. They used to manufacture the Citadel paint range back in the day and their Elven Grey is simply a re-badged Elf Grey. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293232-vanjas-gatekeepers/#findComment-3735353 Share on other sites

I'm down to almost the last drops of my Festering blue...) It's time for color Dummies (used to decide the color scheme) and yet another heavy! Tomorrow we go into HQ! fw_haakon
Hello everyone and thanks for all the nice comments! So today I present you my HQ: Brother-Librarian Castor His history in the chapter is somehow tormented as his Psy. powers were have been asleep for most of his life. Considered to be a normal recruit Castor showed a high affinity for close combat and leadership to the point of being inducted straight away into the assault corpse and very soon to become squad sergeant. On a faithful day the winds of fate brought him to fight against a Chaos incursion led by cohort of corrupted sorcerers. In a daring push Castor's assault squad, led by Chaplain Taris, managed to kill most of the sorcerers enclave; while finishing the manhunt Castor found himself separated from his unit. One of the surviving magi ambushed him with a mind attack subduing him to his will. From here on records become blurry and say that Castor was later found by Taris unconscious next to a mind burned heretic mumbling: "the light... I'm sorry... OH the light". The following psy-screening revealed a new awakened power in Seargeant Castor, that, after his recovery (and the deepest possible taint screening) has been recruited in the librarium where he was named the "the awakened". Castor, to this day, still does not speak freely of what has trespassed on that day but he is known to often take the leadership of assault squads and lead them in the thick of the enemy lines where he can better employ his newly awakened powers and, why not, crush the Imperium's enemy with his power fist. Have to go back to work! Again as always I'm open to suggestion and criticism! fw_haakon
Hi everyone! He's ready for some clobbering Augustus I learned a new (favourite) word today! Thanks! :D Today's HQ is: Interrogator-Chaplain Taris: Brother Taris is as taciturn and retired as he's vehement and daring in battle. Taris's demeanour has been noticed straight away by the chaplains overseeing the recruits. Upon his promotion in the ranks of the 3rd company he was often seen in company of Brother Urios, the company Chaplain. His indictment in the reclusiam was finalized after his fervent and inspiring mannerism allowed his combat squad to continue fighting for over 50 hours under overwhelming conditions allowing his main force detachment to regroup after a rather successful ork ambush. Brother Taris was the first on site to save Brother-Librarian Castor; he is the only one that Castor trusted enough to tell all of what trespassed. Today Taris and Castor are close friends and have saved each-other life more times the care to admit. Teetengee
Very nice, one small piece of advice: the paints on the librarian looked a little thick, you may want to thin them some more. fw_haakon
Hello Brothers, I've been away for a bit but I've been taking some of my 3rd company to the range to practice. In the meanwhile they couldn't resist to make some group photos... (Bunch of show offs...) So here's the results: A few infantry with the next in line to be promoted sergeant. Atm I'm playing around with The First Company! They recieved fresh from the Forges on Mars new terminator armor and they are under painting! Soon we'll see what the legion serfs have done. I welcome any C&C! For the Lion! Vanja Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293232-vanjas-gatekeepers/#findComment-3780366 Share on other sites
