Seahawk Posted July 2, 2014 Share Posted July 2, 2014 When a zzap gun rolls a 10+ for its strength, it now gets hot on a 1, 2, or 3. The problem is that it specifically says it's a wound that's resolved against the crew instead of the gun, thus overriding the normal gets hot rules. How does it work when mounted on a battlewagon where there is no crew? Seahawk Posted July 2, 2014 Author Share Posted July 2, 2014 Vehicles aren't immune. In normal scenarios, a vehicle that has the Gets Hot! weapon that Gets Hot suffers a glancing hit. However, the zzap gun does not follow the normal Gets Hot! rules: "...and the weapon Gets Hot on any To Hit roll of 1, 2, or 3. If a Zzap gun Gets Hot, the wound is resolved against the crew." The gun itself never suffers from Gets Hot; the crew do. However, when mounted on a vehicle there is no crew, so does the Gets Hot just fizzle and nothing gets hurt? RAW seems to say so. Also looks to me like it's always resolved against the crew, at any strength. I think it is Wound allocation specifically, otherwise Vehicle Damage is resolved as normal.
