Renegades and Heretics

The IG Codex is generally stronger with Orders, non-random Leadership, Vehicle Squads, Wyvern, etc. - so I go with that.

However there are still 3 reasons to use the FW list (specifically the Servants of Decay) against specific swarm opponents:

  • Chemical Shell Mortars (Poison 2+, AP4, Blast) - can be taken in groups of 3
  • Plague Ogryns (Poison 2+, S6, T5, W3, FnP, D6 Attacks)
  • Being able to use Plague Marines with Guard

The reason the Shadowsword has intact Aquillas is because its Alpha Legion Guard. Its meant to look like a regular IG tank in order to allow it to sneak closer - as far as a Super Heavy can sneak.

The side plates can come off to reveal Chaos insignias.

On that subject, the entire tank is magnetized and reconfigurable with an internal truss.

Actually, all my Guard vehicles are magnetized and / or configurable.

I use the same basic chassis for all my Artillery (except Wyvern and Bombard).

Gunship wings and armaments are magnetized.

Crew doors are also magnetized to stay shut if I don't utilize the Heavy Bolters.

5 Tank Chassis, tons of turrets and sponson weapons.

Sentinel weapons also magnetized.

Enginseer asks "Yeah, guess who gets stuck disassembling and cleaning up everything after a battle?".

I like it and I mean it. I like even the topic. Now get back into that hovel you call home you scum and provide your chaos overlords with even more bodies for the Long War. Your life is insignificant, all that matters is the persecution of vengeance and the veneration of the Dark Gods. I care not if your fingers bleed from painting, I DEMAND more!

This a really good looking army you have there!

I really like the hidden signs of Chaos on  the tank^^

Also I spent a little too much time trying to find the one guard with green skull that was used for your profile picture^^

Yeah he's hiding in the first pic - back left. Thanks for the compliments.

Really like the magnetisation of the vehicles.

I'm consistently tempted by a Traitor Guard Armoured Company. Though I'd be raiding FW for some of their turrets, brass etch and other conversion parts... so the cost would be... high unsure.png

Eye's on... let's see some more, cool looking, Militarum Traitoris...

Most of my LR spare turrets, Gunship wings, etc. I watched eBay and bought the individual parts when I found one under $10 US.

As for Militarum Traitoris:

Any plans to weather your armour at all? Not that they don't look great already anyway.

Actually yes - soon as I finish the rest of my HH Death Guard, I was going to weather my whole Renegade IG Detachment. That was the intent all along, just never got around to it :(

Look forward to seeing that. You going to use pigments and oils or purely paints?

I have powders / pigments.

That'll be interesting to see for sure.

I'm loving your Tempestus Scions!

I also really dig your command squad on the second picture in this thread. I normally don't particularly like Alpha Legion color schemes – which is entirely subjective and probably just me being distasteful –, but I think you've pulled off a phenomenal paint job here. They look like a crew of crazy, twisted, bad-ass bastards, as I think they should really.

Will your infantry see a degree of weathering as well?
