No we can not, its just rumors at this point

But the pic with the wolves does say in the text that it does have a small format 40k rule book, so if the pic is real than it will be in there

Cheers. I wasn't asking so much for confirm/deny if the image was real. I just cannot see the picture because my facebook is acting up at work. I was looking for confirmation of the claim, by the person in the comment box, that the text in the image stated this.

thanks again, guess we'll see in the next week

Well, I reckon it's rather strange that they just keep it to the packs that are already out. But hey, at least my brother plays Orks so that maybe a win-win thing there although I already do keep a great deal of Grey hunters in my force and would be hard-pressed to space for more.

I notice that the grey hunters in the picture still carries their banner, a nice thing, here's hoping it's just not nerfed to oblivion!

Thats obviously a box of terminators, a box of GH and the lord. If the lord comes free with it then I think its an excellent buy. Who doesnt want more of either.  The only think Ill be annoyed at is if the lord adds a €20 price boost to the set. Which he probably will, knowing GW and their love of charging the price of a box for a single plastic model.

But it does have the small format rule book, so gotta give Fytharin credit there, it is a "starter set" in that respect.

GW is doing some weird stuff with these packs lately, but I'm willing to eat some crow (especially if you guys happen to have one of those cyber-ravens sitting about, they look tasty). It really doesn't look like these are snap-fit models or there's any of the rest of starter gear (no mention of templates, etc), so I think this is a campaign containing boxed set with the small format rules (which would be unique, and may just be more GW experimentation), but that could definitely be considered a starter kit also.

Personally I am a bit underwhelmed.  I love Krom - the model reminds me of the 3rd edition Space Wolf Codex cover, but this set I will not be buying.  I don't need more TDA or GH/BC/WG box sets and I certainly do not want any Orks. This is a solely entry level sell for beginners in our hobby.  If there were more new SW stuff like flyers, Wolf Priests/Wolf Lords/Pysker kits - then it would appeal more to long time collecters like myself.

I will be getting Krom Dragogaze if sold seperately or through Ebay.

Hm... so $125, and I have a local Ork on the line to split who wants the rulebook, so if you think about it, that's 5 termies, 10 PA and a lord, and if he takes the book I'd only be paying around 50-60 bucks.  That is actually such a good deal, i may have to do it.  16 bodies for the price of 5 termies??

This fell out of the warp today. It doesn't look terribly exciting. Thankfully I can probably split two packs with a friend who plays orks

That's a lovely shade of purple that geeks wearing. msn-wink.gif

I'm sure the Orks will play OK in the demo games, and its why I believe there's 5 rather than 10 GH's for the sake of balance.* Greenskins always need more models, its just a shame that the selection being offered are as much use as a chocolate teapot in an Ork army.

*if such a thing exists in 40k

It does feel a bit awkward for the Orks. We get a character, a pack of power armored Wolves, and some termies. Throw in another box of PA Wolves and, as long as Krom is decent, you've got a respectable starting force. The orks on the other hand... Well, the killa kans are the only thing that are genuinely bad*, but then, the kans are supposed to be one of the centerpiece units of the force, and there isn't a boy to be seen in that set. I could say more, but this isn't really the forum for orks.

It would be a great starting off point for a Space Wolves player and even a great supplemental force for an existing to add some new models.  I would easily buy this IF I knew what was in store for Space Wolves in terms of what if anything they will be getting in the new codex.  It makes no sense for me to pick this up, build them out, and then have a force that does not even comply with the new SW rules or makes the best use out of any new gear they get.  Unless it is a one-off thing, I can wait until the new codex comes out.

To echo a lot of what has been said already I have (like the vast majority of us I suspect) a lot of GH and termies built and painted already and even more in bits and on the sprues scattered about all over my desk, spare room, shelves, floor etc... and really don't need any more. I like the krom mini and will be picking him up at some point down the line but am more interested to see what rules he ships with and if it gives an insight into the new 'dex, which hopefully this heralds smile.png

looks like he is 1xx points, has a special frost weapon, the termies have two profiles (so maybe a sergeant? At the least that suggests that the unit diverges from the codex on at least one count), there's a formation, and... Can't make out much more. The rules for frost weapons are in there but i cannot quite see. Looks like its just frost WEAPON with a single profile though?
