Emperor's Furor
I tried walking my cataphractii, wasn't exactly effective lol so I was looking at other ways to utilise them and then realised they can't be deep striked and they can't take a drop pod, so am I right in thinking the only viable way to use them is to stick them in a land raider? hisdudeness
On the ground, it's a LR or Spartan. There are a number of flying options. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3737984 Share on other sites
Ion
Land Raider, Spartan, or a Storm Eagle Gunship would be the transport options I believe. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3737988 Share on other sites
TemujinZero
They can deep strike if you use orbital assault. Several legions also have other options. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3737989 Share on other sites
hisdudeness
Don't forget the Ram!!! Plowing 10 Termies into the target is fun. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3737991 Share on other sites
Strazhakov
Has anyone tried the IW Siege Breaker Termis yet? They seem like a crazy fun unit. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738015 Share on other sites
Reyner
The Siege Breaker Termies look awesome on paper, I am tempted to convert a set or I will wait for FW to do them. They won't have much of a problem walking up with a cyclone each =P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738035 Share on other sites
Emperor's Furor
I'm Word Bearers unfortunately, and my force is going to be primarily heavy infantry assault, don't really want any aerial stuff or vehicles at all if I can afford it, but I think I might have to give them a Land Raider. GodEmperorOfMankind
Lets not forget you can buy a anvillus pattern dreadclaw drop pod as a dedicated troop transport for any terminator squad or termie equipped command squad as long as it numbers 5 models or less :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738072 Share on other sites
Noserenda
Land Raiders or Spartans are solid choices, ive had a lot of success fielding Terminators on foot as heavy infantry though, admittedly i was fielding over 30 at times though... And they are insanely Terrain dependant, no LOS blocks or two much difficult terrain and they bog down and/or dieeeee :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738248 Share on other sites
Nehekhare
Has anyone tried the IW Siege Breaker Termis yet? They seem like a crazy fun unit. best unit ever. Put them onto an ammo dump and with a siege breaker or reductor archmagos. brutal in victory is vengeance when teamed up with a destructor myrmidon. sadly no rule sais they may fire bolters and cyclones like in 40k. hope they are next along the FW line, because havoc launchers are too big and the other cyclone bits are too expensive. I never tried cutting one in half to keep only 3 of the barrels, but I figured it might look just right on top of a termi, no? (And that way you might be ble to arm two termies with a single launcher...) corai
I've had some joy putting squads of 5 in dreadclaws (providing you use the forge world confirmation email that they should have inertial guidance rule!) The claw itself can do a fair job of blocking off unwanted charges whilst they weather a turn of shooting. Dropping a squad turn one right in the enemy face and discharging all 5 plasma parts of the combi plasmas forces your opponent to deal with them and buys the rest of your army a turn to move up. (I'm also not a fan of vehicles so other than drop pods always run infantry) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738427 Share on other sites

Also I'm hoping for something with a gothic-style top angle, like this: http://chapterhousestudios.com/image/cache/data/product%20images/November2012/Cyclone%20Missile%20Front-224x224.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738650 Share on other sites
Moonstalker
I'm currently thinking of fielding a squad of 5 Tartaros suits with powerfists/combiplasma all around, with the intention that they will be a counter-assault element in my list. Just something to protect my gunline from getting overrun by enemy terminators/MCs. That's for 1500, though. I think my expansion to 1850 is a Spartan for them, since the higher the points level the less viable I think footslogging is. On that note, I do not think it is viable to footslog Cataphractii outside of zone mortalis or similar. They're just too slow for a full 6x4 table. SW1
Hmmmm ... IW siege breakers? I do have multiple metal cyclones in the bits box. Might have to give them a go. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293400-terminators/#findComment-3738880 Share on other sites
