Terminators

Recommended Posts

Land Raiders or Spartans are solid choices, ive had a lot of success fielding Terminators on foot as heavy infantry though, admittedly i was fielding over 30 at times though... And they are insanely Terrain dependant, no LOS blocks or two much difficult terrain and they bog down and/or dieeeee :(

Has anyone tried the IW Siege Breaker Termis yet? They seem like a crazy fun unit.

best unit ever. Put them onto an ammo dump and with a siege breaker or reductor archmagos. brutal in victory is vengeance when teamed up with a destructor myrmidon. sadly no rule sais they may fire bolters and cyclones like in 40k. hope they are next along the FW line, because havoc launchers are too big and the other cyclone bits are too expensive.

Have you tried a half-havoc launcher? I never tried cutting one in half to keep only 3 of the barrels, but I figured it might look just right on top of a termi, no? (And that way you might be ble to arm two termies with a single launcher...)

I've had some joy putting squads of 5 in dreadclaws (providing you use the forge world confirmation email that they should have inertial guidance rule!)

The claw itself can do a fair job of blocking off unwanted charges whilst they weather a turn of shooting. Dropping a squad turn one right in the enemy face and discharging all 5 plasma parts of the combi plasmas forces your opponent to deal with them and buys the rest of your army a turn to move up. (I'm also not a fan of vehicles so other than drop pods always run infantry)

good idea, but still too wide. Also I'm hoping for something with a gothic-style top angle, like this:

I'm currently thinking of fielding a squad of 5 Tartaros suits with powerfists/combiplasma all around, with the intention that they will be a counter-assault element in my list.  Just something to protect my gunline from getting overrun by enemy terminators/MCs.  That's for 1500, though.  I think my expansion to 1850 is a Spartan for them, since the higher the points level the less viable I think footslogging is.  On that note, I do not think it is viable to footslog Cataphractii outside of zone mortalis or similar.  They're just too slow for a full 6x4 table.
