Commander_Moustache
Thought I would post my work on my Imperial Guard regiment. I have to appologise about the quality of the photos as my phone is the best camera I have at the moment, but I shall try to use anouther some time. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/igdesign2_zps65b67d05.jpg A concept I made from an Imperial Guard painter http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG-20140605-00085_zps80f04c6a.jpg And the first squad. As you can likely see, I have done the autocannon more like an anti-material rifle http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG-20140708-00090_zps8d77ed9e.jpg http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG-20140708-00091_zpse8f22983.jpg My Astropath. I will definatly get a better shot of him as I am proud of him http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG-20140708-00093_zpsb92235ea.jpg http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG-20140708-00094_zps41f6338c.jpg http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG-20140708-00095_zps45988dec.jpg And here is my Rapier Destroyer Battery converted to be the sort of cannon that could be air dropped from a valkyrie (and under the rules, I believe they can be) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293523-88th-lupina-airborne-horse-artillery/ Share on other sites
Stormborn
airbourne horse artillery! Not sure how that will work, image it is fairly difficult to train horses to parachute. Although I do have the image of the Valkyries pulling out over enemy lines and unleasing a rain of horse apples on them. Your motto could be - We're going to kill you and bury you! I'm liking what I've seen so far, especially the AMR/Autocannon idea. Commander_Moustache
Well thats what I thought of when I heard the name. But its real. Still, more of a "airborn mobile artillery" but it sounded too cool not to use. Commander_Moustache
Well I bought myself a Tablet that I can use at work for those quiet moments and since it had a much better cammera than my phone, I figured I shall post some better pics. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_154750_zpsd595c7aa.jpg Here shows off a selection of my collection, mostly what I have painted and my Company Command Squad. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_154953_zpsab1e2670.jpg A close up of my command squad. Need to sculp a berret on the other morter crewman, but once thats done I can undercoat and paint (as well as base the morter). You can also see my old horrible colour scheme on the morter crewman with the vox. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_154836_zpsf4a2e48c.jpg My Scion Command Squad. Originaly they were a Company command squad with carrapace armour and a body guard (see the dog) but in the new rules (thats 6th and later 7th) having a frontline warlord like it was didnt work out so well so now its a scion command squad with a preist (yeah, thats that dog again) http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_155041_zps106626d9.jpg The Platoon Command Squad. I have bought a taurox to drive them around in, but I am waiting for a conversion kit for it. Will post pics of that when the kit arrives. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_155214_zpsb682b77d.jpg Here is a better picture of the squad above. You can see it much better and note the grenade launcher is converted to be more of a, break open one, rather than one with a revolving cilinder. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_155300_zpsca730125.jpg And of course the secound squad to round out the platoon. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s637/Wolf_Bain_Skyhunter/IMG_20140715_155720_zpsac084cbe.jpg And here is of course my scions. Basicaly Kasrkin with trimmed helmets and berrets sculpted on. WarriorFish
I like your theme, the army is going to look very good once you've got a few models together with all this converting. How are you finding the GS berets, maybe I can offer some tips if you need them? Commander_Moustache
I am finding the berrets easy enough. And I shall be posting my converted Taurox here soon. But yeah any tips you have would be good, so long as I dont fall out and redo them all again :p (I had berrets but they looked rubbish but my new way looks better). Also I reposted all this in the Hall of Honour page and will be updating my work there. WarriorFish
Cool, I'll do a small tutorial on how I do them once the ETL is all done and dusted as I've already promised one. It'd be good to compare notes when I do :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293523-88th-lupina-airborne-horse-artillery/#findComment-3752549 Share on other sites

WarriorFish
I like it, looks like it can mount difficult terrain without issue :) I didn't realise the Taurox had such a detailed interior, but will you be able to see any of it once the model is assembled? Commander_Moustache
Yeah I had to use the whole thing. Idlem
The only thing I might suggest for the Taurox is getting some plasticard and putting a side plate along the wheels along the front. The back look perfect, just the empty space below the front seems a bit off to me Might be just the angle though it looks just fine from the front. Otherwise, great conversion! Yes, I am certainly getting better at them. As for more on the artillery I do not know, I have two heavy mortars buld and waiting to have a base made for them but that will have to wait as I have lots of work on before I have a couple of weeks off Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293523-88th-lupina-airborne-horse-artillery/#findComment-3796892 Share on other sites
