Coming soon...The Purge?

Recommended Posts

This book is about anorexia in the 31st millennia

Lorgar is self conscious after his shaming and locks himself in his room purging because daddy thinks he could loose some weight for not being like his big sister girly man.

I kid....

I'm curious and scared to see what this is going to be like

Anthony Reynolds once more tackles the Word Bearers. JOY!

I have obtained secret excerpts of The Purge of all the Terrans, just like Ashkannez described it in Dark Creed(official title) via a secret process, which I will now post on the BnC because INFORMATION WANTS TO BE FREE!

"Kill all the Terrans. Alllll of them!" said Lorgar, then he laughed an evil laugh.

"Are you sure, my son?" said Kor Phaeron. "Many of them now loathe the Emperor more than even our Colchisian recruits."

"Kill. All. The. Terrans. These are small words, in a short sentence. So why are you not out killing all the Terrans right now?"

"But-"

"I SAID KILL THEM ALL! ALL THE TERRANS! NO EXCEPTIONS! censored.gif YOU, AARON DEMBSKI BOWDEN!"

"Lorgar...who's Aaron Dembski Bowden?"

"You're starting to look a bit Terran to me, pops..."

"Right, right, killing all Terrans, on it, on it right now!"

----------------------

"Your name is DOG!" Marduk spat, and then he backhanded Cyrene.

"WE WILL EAT YOUR STILL BEATING HEARTS FOR THAT!" Argel Tal screamed in two voices as he reached for the neophyte with clawed hands...then he stopped.

Both the man and the daemon in his heart could tell...this neophye was Awesome.

"Actually, we won't kill you, even though we have every reason to. Would you like to join the Legion's Gal Vorbak elite? You don't even have to be possessed first. We'd waive that requirement, because you're just that awesome."

"As if." Marduk sneered. "I have a much cooler, much more awesome, super special destiny than you."

Mercury tears poured from the eye lids of Argel Tal's helm, and then he ran away crying, because he knew he would never be as awesome as Marduk.

I think I might just see what you did there, sir.

You know, I realize that it would be entirely reasonable for someone to read my posts on the Bolter and conclude my relationship with 40k is that of a man who turns on a skillet, slams his face into it, screams in agony, then composes a paragraphs long tirade about how miserable the experience was and posts it online, right before turning on the skillet again...

It's not. No, really, there are many aspects of the lore that I enjoy and many novels I have fallen asleep snuggling with a contented smile on my face. (Most recently, Unremembered Empire.)

It's just that I never feel as comfortable gushing over the things I like as I do raving against the parts I don't care for.

No Wade don't give in and have second thoughts keep strong. Do you think Lord Soth ever looked back at the things he's done in his life and think "Damn people are gonna think I'm such a jerk"? happy.png

Edit: Wait I think he did for a minute but then said screw it...

Guess I should have said something on-topic. Yeah glad other people mentioned who the marine was from. I have really been sucking with colors lately. I didn't know that was a word bearer at all. I think the Loyal word in the sub-title was throwing me off I was. Thought it was from one of the loyalist legions.

Extract avail on BL. Looks to be set in the destruction of Ultramar, though initially starts with the flight path of a craft flying towards the Imperial Palace containing a WB captain, comparing how it looked the last time he was there. From how it read, to me at least, looks like may have found out another recruit to the Knights Errant.

Know he's a captain, from the next passage, and one who is ignoring certain orders- Jarulek gets a mention, and also introduces the Ultra's 17th Chapter Master.

Would give better details, but awkward going back and forth on my phone.

Well, Ravenlord is still available, so I imagine this will take a few weeks to sell out as well.

I do wonder why they went back to limited prints, instead of runs. I remember trying to buy Aurelian right as release, and getting incredibly frustrated at the crashing website. But I somehow managed to get a copy in my cart before they sold out.

But I doubt there will be thousands of people rushing to buy something by Reynolds, unlike the pandemonium caused when Aurelian went on sale.

Limited run is when the novella is only on sale for a number of days, but any number of people can by them. Not 100% sure but I think they hold off on the printing until the time period is over so they know how many to print, so it takes a lot longer for the customer to actually receive the book.

Limited print is when they only print a small number of the novella, and once it's sold out it's sold out. Usually around 4000 copies I think? These should already have been printed and ready for shipment so they would get to the customer a lot quicker.

Haven't read the extract, but the description on BL says the story is about Sor Talgron, who was the Word Bearer main character in 'Scions Of The Storm'. I believe he was also mentioned briefly in 'Battle For The Abyss'. I don't know how close either of those things are to the top of anyone's 'Awesome Moments In The Horus Heresy' list, but... the storyline does sound cool.

I liked the Anthony Reynolds story in 'Mark Of Calth' and I thought 'The Eightfold Path' was great, but man I did not like 'Scions'. Maybe the character will be a bit more interesting this time around.
