TearsOfTheRaven
Apparent from the stock versions, how would you go out about making/representing them? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293548-paragon-blades-and-arceotech-pistols/ Share on other sites
Relict
Paragon blade: Any ornate power sword will do. Archeotech pistol: It's a catch-all term for "nonstandard" sidearms in the possession of high-ranking Legionaries. I wouldn't use a bolt pistol to represent one, but a Volkite charger with some Green Stuff modifications sounds like your best bet. Even a large and elaborate laspistol will do. TearsOfTheRaven
In the back of the crusade army list book it says that sometimes paragon blades come as specialist chain weapons, could a heavy chainsword work for this? Adra'Melek
You could. Whether it looks like a normal Chainsword but the teeth are made of some rare/xenos material or it's a fancy-pants Chainsword. I think Loken's Paragon blade was a chain sword. depthcharge12
I like the rotary barreled idea from descent of angels that was portrayed on the FW praetor. The volkite serpenta works well too if you choose not to make your own. Other than that not too sure :/ When in doubt just jack some bitz from 40k :ninja: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293548-paragon-blades-and-arceotech-pistols/#findComment-3741298 Share on other sites
Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
i use a grav pistol. its odd enough to not be a bolt pistol. WLK Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293548-paragon-blades-and-arceotech-pistols/#findComment-3741316 Share on other sites
Marshal Loss
Paragon blade can be literally anything that's fancy, doesn't have to be a sword. Chain weapons included, Loken has a chainsword and it counts as a paragon blade. As for archeotech, not sure - maybe modify a volkite weapon? Anything alien/archaic looking works Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293548-paragon-blades-and-arceotech-pistols/#findComment-3741329 Share on other sites
Ion
The ordo hereticus inquisitor's flamer/flintlock weapon would make a good base for an archaeotech pistol too. SW1
I've used the old Ragnar model and counted his frost blade as a paragon blade. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293548-paragon-blades-and-arceotech-pistols/#findComment-3741441 Share on other sites
GrandMagnus
I think any bladed CCW with sufficient detail could be an excellent paragon blade: chainswords (like Logan if I recall), spears, swords, axes... Hyaenidae
I'm using a necromunda revolver. No joke. Odd? A bit. Then again, it fits my WWI aesthetic, and it's too easy to explain that I'm using archeotech rounds. Melta-slugs? Why not? Negative fusion rounds? Sure. Vortex bolts? Hell yes, don't mind if I do. It's all fun and games until someone's chest disappears into a miniature black hole.
