- 5 Cataphractii Terminators, 4 power fists, 1 chainfist, 4 volkite chargers, 1 plasma blaster

- 3 Jetbikes, 3 melta bombs, 1 multi melta

- Contemptor mortis with 2 plasma blasters and cyclone missile launcher

- Predator with turret autocannon and sponson lascannons

The idea is that the list is a fairly fluffy and balanced list that's in your face and mobile, mainly to oppose my usual army (imperial guard)'s style.

Dynat is mainly there to encourage this, and most units are built around his "Harrowing" rule.

Pseudo Lernaeans are what they are because I don't think actual Lernaeans count towards the pride of the legion limitations (Eg, if my veteran squads were to die with actual Lernaeans in the list I'd lose the victory points, while these count as an extra unit towards it.)

I'm a little hesistant to sink so many points in my troops, but I feel like fast moving elite teams suit the Alpha Legion image, while allowing me to deploy them flexibly.

While this is supposed to be a fluffy list, please don't hesitate to criticise it competetively, as well as recommend any tweaks that you think would make it either more competetive/more fluffy.

Thanks for reading.

One of the main things I see that can be improved upon competitive-wise is your terminators. While I love cataphractii armor, without a transport I think they are too slow to be useful. I think so even if you're taking them with infiltrate via your legion rules. I would run them with Tartos armor for the added mobility.

While I have had great success with the jetbikes I would recommend more in a squad. I feel like 3 goes down too easily. I like to run at least 5, but six with an extra special weapon if I have the points.

I agree with Flamebeast on the Contemptor.

Lastly, I usually wouldn't ever recommend veteran squads, but if its for the sake of fluff then it is completely acceptable. Not a bad start, sir. Goodluck list building.

Thanks for the replies.

I was planning on using Dynat's warlord trait (rerollable deep strike for 1 infantry unit) for the cataphractii, but even then I'd have to agree they're too slow.

I'll probably drop the veterans in the end, as cool as the idea is it's hard to justify the cost.
