Wolf priest helmet designs.

Hi there,

I was wondering what do wolf priest helmets look like? I know Ulrick has the iconic wolf skull one but that is suppose to be a very special relic, so I assume it is not the conventional helmet design for other wolf priests.

I have the chaplain skulll helmet from the DV chaplain lying around and was wondering do people think that would be suitable still? as I am a huge fan of the traditional chaplain skull helms.

What are others thoughts on this?

Thanks

5th edition gave all Wolf Priests a wolf skull helm, to look scary I guess. The pic I remember from 3rd is a drawing showing a priest wearing a wolf hide with the wolf's head forming a hood (how I modeled mine). The wolf head helm from Grey Hunters kit is the current popular choice for Wolf Priests

Just go with a standard Chaplain helm; it'll look good. Just my opinion here, but I think those wolf-head shaped helmets from the Space Wolves pack sprues look incredibly goofy.

You could always just go bare-headed and avoid the issue entirely.

I just went through this dilemna since I grabbed the jump pack chaplain to convert.  I ended up leaving the head on, cutting it down on top, attaching the wolf skull bit, and then using greenstuff to add a wolf fur hood running down the back (since the wolf skull on top looked odd, it helped balance it)

Edit: and when I say "just" i mean I just finished letting it dry and primed it.

I think the DV chaplins helmet is sick!! Shave off the ugly DA icon, or fill it it, I can't remember...and he'll look awesome!! If you're adventurous, then attach a wolf skull to the top of it and some greenstuff like Nrth suggested!! Then he'll look even more BOSS!!

EDIT: Here's mine:

I took the wolf head helmet from the power armor kit and a wolf skull do-dad from the TDAWG kit and bashed 'em together.

Cut the wolf skull just behind the eye sockets and the helmet from the bottom of the top 'jaw' line to the front of the ears. I tried a curved line at first, then made it into an 'L' shape and filled gaps with GS. Very simple design and quite unique looking as well!! Gives the idea that it's still a helmet, but it's shaped like a skull.

Glad you like it!!
