so I'd like to know more

Recommended Posts

Listen I find myself drawn to the tactics and strategy of 40k and I'd like to learn morr about the sisters of battle in this regard.

By this I mean what does the army really excel at and what are its noticeable drawbacks (on the table that is).

Now don't go feeding me all your secrets but an over arching idea of what to expect would be nice.

Looks about right. We balance towards the offensive end of the spectrum, but the harder our units hit, the more fragile they are.

We like to get in close and hose down the enemy with bullets, fire, and fire bullets. Either that, or set to them with massive chainsaws and flaming buzz saws. On fire.

We are the nuns with guns... and flamethrowers.

Well the things I always liked where that they seemed to be a less in your face type of space marine army with a few differences. They have unique models which is always a plus to me, I mean they are the only army I can buy models for and don't need to convert to have an all female army (there has always bee something about a women who could kick my butt..... T.M.I?). They can have a ton of melta and flame weapons which allows them to tackel a lot of different foes. They get other heavy weapons as well, which can help them round out. While I said they are "less in your face" they still have the ability to get in your face. With good armor the basic troops can survive, and the ladies with big hitting sticks can wreck most any unit in CC.

I think their down sides are more from what seems like GW's lack of interest in the army. There limited choices and some times limited options from what I have seen. While I don't have the Imperial Armor books, I would be sure how much they actually add. I think they come across like my WHFB armies, in that you have to make sure you pick your battles on the table with them. Know what you have to shoot and know what and/or when you can afford to get into CC with them.

Now I don't have the Codex yet. Still trying to figure out how I will have it on hand as the only thing I own a PC, and I don't feel like hauling it to a store just to play with the SoB. SO my input is just from what I "feel" is their Pros for the most part. I am reading up on here just to try and learn them better.

They certainly are, but they're designed as looking damaged, unlike... well, all other doors, which can clash with an intact vehicle. So are the icons from their set, incidentally.. And unlike, say, World Eaters with their two different maw designs in their etched brass, all your rhino chassis will look the same if you use them. Not everyone wants to use the ridiculously thick icons from the Immolator box. Or at least not on vehicles other than their command rhinos.

I never actually asked Forge World if they ever will bother making Adepta Sororitas etched brass or decals, but somehow I doubt they will.
