Captain Coolpants
Probably a stupid question... But you never learn without asking! Can a dreadnought shoot while being transported by a stormraven gunship? Technically it's not embarked because its not inside, so surely wouldn't need fire points as it's outside, and could the dreadnought use any psychic powers while being transported? And if it can, will it also effect the stormraven? Reclusiarch Darius
Does it have fire points? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293698-can-dreadnoughts-shoot-from-a-stormraven/#findComment-3744155 Share on other sites
shortysl
It still counts as Embarked, whether or not it is physically inside the vehicle. Being Embarked in this case is an actual state within the framework of the rules rather than a literal interpretation of the Dreadnought's position. If it is Embarked on the Stormraven and the Stormraven doesn't have Fire Points, then no, the Dreadnought cannot fire. Just my opinion of course, and for some reason it's a really wordy one too........ Quozzo
The recoil of a dreadnought firing whilst being holstered may damage the clamps or possibly rupture the pressurized fuselage. Not something you want, unless exploding stormravens make for good kamikaze runs xD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293698-can-dreadnoughts-shoot-from-a-stormraven/#findComment-3744594 Share on other sites
Captain Coolpants
Well if a vehicle can handle coming in from orbit, and has numerous thrusters that can make evasion maneuvers and such, and also fire it's own weapons, I'm sure it could handle a little assault cannon being fired from the rear lol. After all, a terminators can fire an assault cannon with 1 arm. Also a lascannon is essentially a lazer, as it's just concentrated light, then there should technically be no recoil as there is no substantial mass being ejected from the barrel.... But I'll just have to accept your narrative lmao. It's better than no reason haha Thanks for le replies :-P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293698-can-dreadnoughts-shoot-from-a-stormraven/#findComment-3744621 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
The short answer is no, as nothing in the rules allows it. Sorry man. Maximum narrative forged points though haha :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293698-can-dreadnoughts-shoot-from-a-stormraven/#findComment-3744726 Share on other sites
Rurik the blessed
Think as the dreadnought is shut off... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293698-can-dreadnoughts-shoot-from-a-stormraven/#findComment-3744787 Share on other sites
