tjdudey
So I played a small match this weekend, 1300 pts vs Grey Knights We played an eternal war mission, as neither of us have bought the Tac Obj cards yet, and we couldn't be bothered to keep generating the D66 objectives. So we played the Emperors Will. Firstly I will give you good news my Wolf Brothers that the Vlka Fenryka won the day against the blind faith and unreasonable hatred of the Grey Knights. Not even the fearsome, and mildly cheesy Nemesis Dreadknight could withstand the force of the Rout. However, my eyes were opened to how good the Biomancy powers are. I chose the table hoping to get iron arm, for my Bike Priest, or for the Runic armoured priest with a squad of GH. However, I got Endurance on the bike priest, and Life Leech on the other. (Only Mastery 1 each) These powers can be really useful. Endurance is a pain being WC 2, but the shooting attacks in biomancy are both AP2, so his terminators fell turn after turn to wychfire. Smite is a most enjoyable Primaris power to use, being assault 4. Oh yes, and Although one priest Periled once in the match, when Life Leech succeeded he was close enough to get the wound back anyway. Squark
Biomancy is pretty good, yeah. Iron Arm is amazing (+3 Strength and Tougness, and I'm AP 2 in close combat?), Endurance is borderline broken on TWC, etc. Hemorhage is the only real dud. SvenONE
Biomancy is without a doubt the best Psychic Discipline there is. Divination is still good, but situational in most situations. Biomancy is the kind of discipline that if you take it, you know you are going to be using it and it's going to pay off. I don't think Hemorrhage is all that bad as a power in theory, in execution however it's too hard to get it to do what you want. It's essentially an 18" S3 AP2 Assault 2 shot (vs MEQ/TEQ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293737-biomancy/#findComment-3744890 Share on other sites
Leif Bearclaw
Plus I'm rather a fan of enfeeble. If only we could reliably get specific powers, I love the idea of an enfeeble/Arjac combo instant killing a now T5 Riptide or Dreadknight, but it's too unlikley to engineer. tjdudey
Yeah, However with 2-4 runepriests, rolling on biomancy (in a larger point match obviously) you stand a good chance, and instead or Arjac, take 2 vindicators. Then they dont need to get within 6 inches. I have a friend who I play more than anyone, who lives off of Monstrous Creatures, HE has both the aforementioned riptide and Dreadknight, plus a large Nid Army, full of MCs. I think I will try the enfeeble route a bit more. T Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293737-biomancy/#findComment-3744899 Share on other sites
Leif Bearclaw
True, but the image in my mind is the RP and Arjac come down in a pod, debuff and 'dink', the giant mech falls down, whereas the vindicator has the sort of big gun that should be obliterating MCs. The former is more embarrassing for the Riptide, and hence more amusing to me. tjdudey
I agree, yours is the most theatrical way, I have actually run Arjac 3 or 4 times and never once have I gotten the chance to throw Foehammer...its really bugging me...When I run him, he never makes it to combat. (He doesn't die, but his intended target seems to die before he gets there most times.) CatSmasher
I just got an Arjac Model. I plan on running him with my combi meltas and WP in a DP. He will land in the middle, and re roll his ones as he smashes something with Foehammer (hopefully) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293737-biomancy/#findComment-3745047 Share on other sites
