Remtek
Army Painter Quickshade - strong tone First time trying this stuff, with some different colors. Ironically i havent tested red yet being a BA player an all that. I tried shaking it off, but perhaps it's better to apply with a brush. All of the models are done with the 'strong tone' quickshader. Quick howto: 1. Prime model 2. Basecoat plus details of your choosing (gun etc) 3. Dip Model and shake excess off (best to do outisde) It has a quite a strong smell. 4. Let it dry for 24 hours before applying matt varnish. Anyways here are some results. netminder69
I love Quickshade. I use it on my Minotaurs. The one issue I have with it is it's not uncommon for the Matte Varnish from a spray can to wrinkle on the model after using Quickshade. I have been using a brush on matte varnish recently, but am thinking of trying to do a gloss coat first and then matte and see how that works out. I prefer using an airbrush for varnish, vallejo matte thinned 1 part water 5 parts varnish seems ideal. If i thin it down to much it dosnt seem to work. The spray can be very tricky but i think there are some good tutorials, been a while since i used em. Remtek
Update: Using a medium size drybrush dipped in white spirit worked really great for cleanup. I dipped 12 models then did some cleanup roughly 20 min. after dip. This is the result (before matt varnish). I kinda rushed the job and missed some spots, but a brush dipped in White Spirit was extremly fast and easy cleanup. Colours are: Yriel Yellow - GW Gunmetal - Army Painter Chaos Black - GW Quickshade dip - Strong tone. - Army Painter Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293778-quickshade-test-results-strong-tone/#findComment-3763229 Share on other sites
