StormClaw Unboxing...

Thanks for posting the link.

The minis look rather nice but it still stinks of a 6.5/7 Ed starter set to me! I have been wandering if their would be a mini rule book as part of this box and now I know there is one in the box I will be seeking it out on Ebay!

Looks like those GH do not have the CCW,BP, B loadout. This is terrible.

Not necessarily. If ultragrit is an optional upgrade (+1 point per model on a 14 point base), that'd be a step forward, imo, since having to pay points for the close combat weapon has put hurt them compared to the cheaper tactical marines.

A fair and reasonable retort. I hope you are correct,

Is there precedence of this in another codex?

Chaos marines and legion tactical squads both work like that.

and even then the way their modeled confirms nothing yet

No, close combat weapon is missing from the grey hunters entry in the Dataslate for Krom's pack. We don't know what that means.

For the record, CSM get an extra close combat weapon for 2 points, while the Charchodons pay 1 point (Presumably Forgeworld noticed that 2 points for the extra weapon meant no one took them, and adjusted to compensate). Which way GW will go remains to be seen, although I'd like to think they have the business sense to realize that seriously messing up a codex with such a rabid following (canine pun intended) is a very, very bad idea.

Email cannon barrage requested?

Noted.

On a more serious note, I just wonder why GW feels that CCW on GH's needs to cost extra compared to normal SM's.  I mean, I always take them, is it that we're getting 70 pt GH packs same as C:SM?  If so, I wouldn't mind the 75 pt baked in CCW on each GH.  That said, who goes without the CCW on GH's, or would, given the option to do so?

it's certainly reasonable for them to cost 1-2 points per model more than vanilla marines, I think.

If counterattack and acute senses were a chapter tactics I think they'd be fairly competitive with the other options. And unless more has changed, grey hunters have the advantage of 2 special weapons which is far preferable to 1 special and 1 heavy.

Have we confirmed that the formation is inflexible - e.g. only 5 blood claws, etc?

Because furious charge and some reroll thing when focus firing (can someone confirm specifics) are, imho, really cool special rules for the formation. But the actual unit composition is pretty crappy, making it somewhat wasted. If they'd only allowed dedicated transports and larger pack sizes in the formation, I could absolutely imagine fielding it even with krom's dumb rules.

Ok, where do I email GW about the lack of runic armour? I think if enough people email in it's possible they might change it on a fluff basis.

No they won't.  At best they'll tell you to build a generic Wolf Lord and call him Krom, or "play with whatever rules you and your opponent agree to."  For that matter you can just ask the guy you're playing if it's ok if you pay for the Runic Armor upgrade on him.
