Rune Priest Jbickb
O man ragnar is one of my top 3 favorite characters. He's just after Logan, and right before Lukas (preparing to dodge steins). I know Lukas isn't everyones favorite but if his point come down I will run him all the time instead of just randomly I love his fluff. Back on topic I love fielding ragnar but despise the model hopefully we get a new one, but if not I will probably give conversion a go. Nova_chron
I am resisting the urge to convert Krom outright into Ragnar in case he gets a new sculpt. If not I plan to pin the weapon hand so I can swap in a good frost blade. skeletoro
it's not just a piece of art though. The title reads 'the deeds or ragnar Blackmane.' that said it might be all fluff no crunch - but yeah, maybe we'll see the third part of SR released along the rumoured ragnar plastic, if he's in the campaign. Logan's in the campaign too so new Logan/ragnar models really makes a lot of sense from that perspective. I truly hope the models are as awesome as Krom's. I want a second Krom model... so conversion-friendly! Going to magnetize the :cuss out of him Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293875-stormclaw-unboxing/page/2/#findComment-3748278 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
One way to look at the loss of ubergrit is that you have just made GH packs that much more flexible. However this is only true if the packs are updated with something in return so that not buying any bolt pistols makes it actually worth it. While I do not expect them to start getting heavy weapons ala tactical squads, I am hoping for grav weapons or something else that makes me WANT to forgo the cost of bolt pistols. If it is just a matter of nothing in return, then I will purchase bolt pistols to just run them as I already do. wookieman
According to a poster on warseer who looked at the video of the unboxing they came up with the following: "They didn't lose the extra attack. According to the wargear in their profile in the new box "All models are equipped with close combat weapon, bolt pistol and power armor" or something of the like. If anything, we lost the bolter, though if the bolter is a costed upgrade, the points of other upgrades would be strange to give us such a well rounded number." interesting if correct. Rift Blade
Pretty sure it is, & some probable legal issues there, hence that video being taken from the other site. Dantay VI
Ah well, don't want to get B&C in trouble or those who enjoy being here. Can someone confirm whether or not that Grey hunters get to keep the same load -out as they currently do in the codex? Isn't this against board rules? Pretty much anything goes during the "rumor" phase, but once we hit the published release date for a product, then we're no longer in the rumor phase, and we can't take pictures and share IP, etc. Stormclaw should be released about right now in the UK, I think, so the rumor-phase is over for that particular product, so no taking pictures, etc. You can still confirm or deny specific rules, you just can't share exact points costs, or basically share so much that we could play the product without owning it. We are now, however, still in the rumor phase for both the actual codex, as well as the 3rd Sanctus Reach book. Rift Blade
DANTAY-XV--it's still up in the air. The Sanctus Reach Gray Hunter unit description says all models have bolt pistol, frag & krak grenades, Hengist has a power axe, one Gray Hunter has a plasma pistol & chainsword, one has a plasma gun & 2 Gray Hunters have boltguns. After skimming the campaign book with the units in it, I feel like this is an introduction set to the game with watered down rules to get you into it. But that's just my take. Bryan Blaire
dantay_xv, for Stormclaw's purposes though, no, the Grey Hunters as listed don't have the current SW Codex load-out of bolter, BP and CCW. Whether that means anything at all for the new Codex is pretty much anyone's guess. Dantay VI
Thanks Valerian. I did wonder as there were actual pages shown elsewhere. wookieman
Has anyone got their copy of Stormclaw and can they confirm the GH load out? Bryan Blaire
wookieman, if I had to guess for Grey Hunters, it may be a lot like the Dark Angels' Company Veterans codex entry. They can get CCWs free, but have to trade their bolters for them. My guess for the GH entry is that it says something like this: Wargear: power armor, bolter, bolt pistol, frag and krak grenades Options: Any model may trade their bolter and/or bolt pistol for a close combat weapon. Up to two models may trade their bolter for one of the following: Flamer, Melta-gun, Plasma Gun, Plasma Pistol. And then the Pack Leader will get some additional options in the form of access to an armory of melee and ranged weapons including power weapons, claws, storm bolter, etc. Looks like Valerian and I had the same idea Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293875-stormclaw-unboxing/page/2/#findComment-3749499 Share on other sites

But what comes out in this little box is not necessarily the same as what the Codex units will look like? Although that seems dumb. I can't imagine they wrote one out of alignment with the other. Brother Amarel
Hm. But what comes out in this little box is not necessarily the same as what the Codex units will look like? Although that seems dumb. I can't imagine they wrote one out of alignment with the other. Me either. I'd suggest that Grey Hunters are going to be pretty much in-line with standard Tacs with Chapter Tactics of Acute Senses and Counter-Attack, access to 0-2 Plasma Pistols in addition to standard upgrades and the Veteran Sergeant not having +1LD (as Wolf Guard can still be added). Certainly the Orks match-up correctly to the Ork Codex. The only other thing worth noting is that the SW do already have a higher points cost than the Orks, so if a second CCW was a costed option then it might not have been taken to retain greater parity in points. Terminators are still comparitively cheap (cheaper than DA with the same options, for example).
