Emperor's Furor
What would be the better option? Run them across the board or have them deep strike in? I'm using 5 of them in my 1k list below and I'm unsure the best way to utilize them. Diabolist - Lightning Claws / Burning Lore - 140 Chaplain - 85 Gal Vorbak (x5) - 200 2 Apothecaries- 90 Legion Tactical Squad (x10) - 150 Legion Tactical Squad (x10) - 150 Contemptor Mortis - Two twin-linked lascannons - 185 Total - 1000 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293883-deep-strike-or-run-gal-vorbak/ Share on other sites
Moonstalker
Honestly, it probably comes down to what your opponent has and what the table/deployment looks like. If they've got augury scanners everywhere or some method of messing with reserves rolls (LR Proteus, maybe?) then deep striking is out. If there is a good bit of terrain you can deep strike behind, be safe from fire yet close to the enemy, and then move around it and get a charge off next turn, then that obviously makes it a good option. But you can't count on seeing that kind of arrangement every game. At 1k points, my preference would probably be to run them up the field. At the very least, the bullets that they are face-tanking are not being put into your tactical squads, and they might get into melee on turn 2 (where if they deep strike, the earliest they get into melee will be turn 3).
