Brother Captain Ed Posted July 18, 2014 Share Posted July 18, 2014 I was looking at the Teeth of Terra and it has Strikedown. But I cannot figure out why that would be good on a melee weapon. minigun762 Posted July 18, 2014 Share Posted July 18, 2014 ToT is really only considered for Rampage and even that assumes a certain play style and unit composition . Possibly the best option is on an HQ who is attached to Sternguard or special weapon spammers in pods. Pair it with a combi weapon for the alpha strike then leave the squad and go assault something. Axagoras Posted July 18, 2014 Share Posted July 18, 2014 i like it paired with just a pistol to get a TON of attacks, but the issue is those few extra attacks dont justify it over a thuderhammer thanks to the amount of +2 saves on tau units... Captain Idaho Posted July 19, 2014 Share Posted July 19, 2014 I rate the Teeth of Terra. AP3 is actually really good depending on your targets. Sure AP2 is great but I'd rather bring my assault force into combat with units I can kill than units that are just as powerful as my own. I have sometimes been stuck fighting 2+ save units I'd rather not, but that's the game. On the whole I shoot them with plasma etc though and assault everything else. If your Chapter Master is charging into a mob or mega armour then you're onto a loser most likely anyway! GreyCrow Posted July 19, 2014 Share Posted July 19, 2014 It's been very good for me. The best performer was a Captain on a Jump Pack with a Power Fist and the ToT.
