As an aside, are the Tamiya clear colors like a glaze? Same with the Rub and Buff pewter, is that not similar to GW's Mithril Silver? I'm trying to find GW analogues so I don't have to buy a whole new line. I have the quickshade line by Army Painter, but something tells me I'm not half right using those to get similar results...

Rub & Buff Pewter is a Guilding Wax. I've used Vallejo Oily Steel with similar results though. I'd say that Mithril Silver is too bright and would make the overall effect too bright.

The Tamiya Clear colours are like an ink, but the colours (Green & Yellow) are extremely vibrant, almost like food colouring. The first Tamiya Clear layer in FW's recipe is Tamiya Smoke mixed with Tamiya Clear Yellow, but you literally only need 2-3 drops of yellow, otherwise it completely overpowers the Tamiya Smoke!

Tamiya Smoke is a bit like Nuln Oil, with a slightly brown shade added in.
