Valkyrion
Looking for a pallid bluey purpley grey-y pale skin tone to try on some servitors and wondering really how to go about it? One of the perks of Space Marines is never having to paint skin if you don't want to, so I hardly ever have. Any help would be smashing! Lord Commander Scrymgeour
try using a pale skin tone and then a blue wash over the top, kind of how people achieve that amazing ork skin tone Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293954-painting-servitors-help/#findComment-3749345 Share on other sites
Flint13
The method I have had decent success with in the past is pretty simple. I use it for painting vampires quite often. 1.) Basecoat with a stone gray color. I use Adeptus Battlegray. 2.) Broad highlights with a 50/50 mix of Adeptus Battlegray and Astronomicon. 3.) Coat with a very thin (maybe 75% water/medium) wash. I've tried Druchii Violet, Badab black and Drakenhoff Nightshade so far. 4.) Highlight the very tippy toppest skin bits with 25/75 Battlegray/Astronomicon. 5.) Rewash with your thinned wash of choice. This will put more depth into the color in the recesses of the model, while the higher highlighted parts get just a hint. 6.) (Optional) One last tip top highlight. Hope that helps. The only thing I would caution is to make your wash *super* thin to start. You can always re-wash, but if it goes on too heavy, there isn't a lot you can do besides repaint.
