I have only beat them once in past several months. I pretty much mauled his entire army but his tides uterly crushed my army by themselves. I couldn't kill them, this was my list: it's DKok by the way. Company command Platoon w/ 2 squad Grenadiers w 2 melta storm chimera Grenadiers w/ 2 melta storm chimera Grenadiers w/ 2 metal storm chimera Demolisher Demolisher Executioner w/ plasma sponsons. march10k Posted July 20, 2014 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Hmmm...riptides...two ways to deal with them. Melee, which means either a knight, or some allies. The other way is high volumes of low-AP shooting. The plasmacutioner and the demolishers should have no trouble bringing down about .5 riptides per turn...how many is he running in 1500 points? If it's more than one, then he's a dirtbag, but a vulnerable one, since it's very AYEIOB. I would spam forward sentries with lascannons to pound them from some ruins (3+ cover, if he wants to waste any markerlights on cutting their cover save, that's to your advantage!), keep up the executioner and demolisher fire, and use empty chimeras to score objectives while he's too busy trying to reduce your anti-riptide shooting to worry about some empty transports that can't hurt his baby titans anyway. /edit/ T6, 5W, 2+ save and 5+ invul that can be increased to 3+ at the risk of wounding himself and at the opportunity cost of doing other nifty things with his nova reactor. That's kind of the point, though....get him to use the nova shield so he's not as offensive, some pain will still get through, and he'll be risking hurting himself in the process. Ulrock Posted July 20, 2014 Author Share Posted July 20, 2014 He's bringing 2 at 1500, so I am debating on switching some stuff out to include a knight. The demolishers were straight up murdering everything he had and it was purge the alien so I wanted them to keep up killing units instead of taking off a single wound (hopefully) a turn. I one shotted his commander on turn one with a demolisher blast! At 1850 I'm going to keep the list similar but add in a Knight, would that be pretty nasty for a tournament or no? Or summon greater daemons and watch him qq (it will be the same people that ran ovesa star in 6th). Or also psykers for force weapons would be good too.
