spjaco
The hand wielding the sword is the left one... You could always turn it upside down. Make him a total Bad*ss! Wraithwing
So, first half of Grey Hunter pack 1 is done: Now to decide whether to build and paint the other half of the pack, or make a start on painting Harald Deathwolf. Wraithwing
They look fantastic man! Paint whatever you're most motivated to paint IMO! Helps avoid burnout. Cheers dude. Unlike my other SM armies, I'm finding the Wolves quite easy to paint, as all the pelts and gold break up the monotony of the armour. Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
Agreed. I also find that by the time I have picked over all of the armor plates I get to paint more organic pieces and break up the blue!! I really like the WGPL, great pose and quite the menacing looking character!!Nice work!! Wraithwing
One final update before bed, decided to start Icetooth for Harald: Surprisingly, this is the first Wolf I've ever painted, not counting pelts from my previous Space Wolves armies. I think it turned out ok. What do you guys think? Wraithwing
Managed to do a bit more on Icetooth today. Also, took some pictures in better lighting. Still a few bits and bobs to do, but getting there. Will likely start on Harald tonight: Cheers, WW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294055-wraithwings-space-wolves-wip-thunderwolves-painted/page/2/#findComment-3777405 Share on other sites

Urauloth
Nice looking fur on that pup, what are you using? I like the twin red shoulder pads on your GH pack, it's very distinctive. skeletoro
strangely the colour palette on that wolf seems super familiar to me. Is it reminiscent of a Disney character - Goofy? I do like it, though. Nice mix of contrast (I think that's where I'm getting the comic/cartoon vibe) and drybrushing. Wraithwing
Little bit more of an update tonight. Started on Harald. Wanted to take my time over the armour, so it's a little neater than the rank and file. Lighting isn't great, but you get the idea: Hopefully I'll make a real dent in him over the weekend and have him finished. Wraithwing
Presenting Harald Deathwolf, Lord of the Wolfkin: There's a few finishing touches to be done, such as Icetooth's eyes (have no yellow paint!), but overall, I'm pretty happy with the way he's turned out. Looking forward to seeing him charge across the battlefield accompanied by his Thunderwolf Cavalry! Wraithwing
Where did you get the face for Ragnar? Just curious (and I'm just starting out). It's from the old Space Wolves accessory sprue, combined with a topknot from an Ork Nob. Wraithwing
Right, time for an update! Grey Hunter Pack 1 is now finished. Here's the second half: Here's the whole pack together: And finally, a shot of all painted units so far in this new army: Now I just need to decide on what to paint next. TWC, Wolf Priest, or another pack of Grey Hunters?
