Castellan Blackmane
I read the space wolf omnibus part 1 and 2 and I can't help but feel like there's still a tale to be told. The final omnibus ends before Ragnar is even promoted to wolf guard, nevermind wolf lord, I can see at least 1 but more likely 2 more books being made without padding. Anyone agree or actually know if this is even possible? Conn Eremon
It's been almost a decade since the last book was published, which was also the last we saw of its concluding author. The initial author is working on the Macharian Crusade (or is that done by now?). I honestly don't see them going back. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
and I hope they dont really. The King series was...a good introduction to 40k, but dont really mesh with the current feeling of the Chapter. Anyone agree or actually know if this is even possible? I'm sure there'll be more about Ragnar Blackmane. He's one of the most recognisable characters in 40K, from the most popular Chapter. That's not something that will stay silent forever. and I hope they dont really. The King series was...a good introduction to 40k, but dont really mesh with the current feeling of the Chapter. WLK Different authors have different takes, even on the same characters, I guess. There's no absolute comparison, as 40K's loose canon is very distinctive, but these things are cyclical in their own way. Just as one Spider-Man writer may not be beholden to another Spider-Man writer, there's still always Spider-Man stuff being released. Some of it will be a continuation of the original storyline, some of it will cling tightly to aspects of previous iterations but go its own way, and some of it will be significantly different. Look at Abaddon. He's one character, written completely differently (to the point of conflicting portrayals, which is indeed the point) by several writers. My Abaddon isn't Christian Dunn's, f'rex. His Abaddon isn't mine. But they're both Abaddon. Just like Ragnar by someone else's hand might be significantly different to King's. What came before isn't what must always be. I just killed him before he had chance to release Master of Mankind. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
@A D-B: I fully understand that, and it is a shared universe, I just personally feel that the current... "feel" of the Wolves are more fitting for the 40k back story than the Wolves as written by King. TrafficCustodes
Ragnar Blackmane appears in Chris Wraight's 'Blood Of Asaheim', he's not Wolf Lord yet. It's a fairly brief cameo but it made me want to read more about him. Maybe there'll be some more by Wraight on him? But I tried reading one of the Bill King books and couldn't get even 100 pages in. Just didn't personally care for that writing style. I read the space wolf omnibus part 1 and 2 and I can't help but feel like there's still a tale to be told. (I guess from this post, it could be some background in a Codex.)
