My Humble tribute to Brother Argos : B&C knight

Recommended Posts

Well, for long I wanted to make an imperial knight to play with my Dark Angels. I didn't wanted him to be green because one of the reason I wanted a knight was the possibility to paint something different.

I've imagined a free knight, meeting the DA during their secret quest and joining them while they tried to hide him the real purposes of their mission...

Needed to find a convenient scheme then...

And then came the bad news....

Like everybody here, I felt sad to see Brother Argos leaving... I'm on this board since 2004 and this website has taken an important part in my hobbyist's life. Learning that one of its pillar (and what pillar!) was leaving made me feel bad...

So to exorcise this and make a little tribute (though still microscopic when comparing to Argos' dedication), I've decided to named my Knight Argos and paint him with the famous red/black/white scheme.

Here's the WIP, hope you like it

C&C welcome

Glad you like it all.

The works goes very fast. I've decided to change the shoulder pads color organization so that the left is black in the front and the right is red.

The top armour and the shoulder pads are not glued yet.

It really is shaping up to be a thing of beauty; my one complaint really is that, in my opinion, the barrel on the melta weapon is too dark and blends in with the gun.  Have you given any consideration to making it more of a heat stained brass color?

Well, I've taken my inspiration from the GW treatment of the melta weapon.

I recognize they may have used a copper color to make it lighter... But I like the really carbon effect of the cannon, looking like it has shot lots of times. :P

Test for battle damages :

I'm not totally convinced by the black. I've tried to do the lining with a lighter grey but didn't look good. If you have any tips, fell free to share.

Argos is looking sexy...oh, er...forget I just said that.

And now among everything else, now Argos has to check under his bed for tentacles every night. You sick Slaaneshi bugger.

The B+C colour scheme lends itself very well to Knights happy.png

I know right? I'm sorta surprised just how well it fits the model.

As promised, I've tried to take pictures using a more natural light

The feet are fixed using 2 powerful magnets glued on the feet and 2 little magnet under the base
