Phalanx Warder
Hello all, I have quite a rookie question: I play 30k with German nationals (great group of guys) and as a disclaimer I have to admit that I don't know the rules that well. Part of my confusion may be getting lost in translation so I figured I better ask here: Legion Vets with the sniper special rule gain rending on their attacks, in a "Cold Void" game does this mean that they now rend on a 5+ or do they still only Rend on a 6+? The last Game I played we stuck to the 6+ rule, I have a game coming up and if I end up as the attacker I plan to have a vet squad with Bolters and the sniper USR in the hopes that the LA - IF special rule of +1 BS and the sniper USR would create a 5+ rending attack. Is this legal? Your thoughts please. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294237-zone-mortalis-and-rending/ Share on other sites
Telhdrat
Not sure how that would have gone previously, but in the 7th edition sniper no longer gives you rending so I'd say you played it correctly. You just get AP 2 on a six, which is of course very similar but not same (ruleswise). Bowlzee
Sniper rule in 7th is pseudo-rending. 6 to hit is a precision shot, 6 to wound is an ap2 hit. The rending rule for cold void is on a 6 to hit I believe... So you could get two chances for it.
