Apokalypsi
Hey everyone, I've been perusing the forums for about a week now. I've been finding so much knowledge that I figured I better make an account and become a part of this community. I've been interested in 40K since Junior High over 10 years ago, but am only just now getting into it thanks to a friend. He invited me to his game club and I've been going every chance I can ever since. I'm definitely a loyalist Marine at heart, but as of yet have to figure out what Chapter I like the best. I've tried Minotaurs (a bit of a loyalist stretch, I know) and BT so far. Next on the list is RG. I'm finding that I am more of a smashy Marine than a shooty one. Any suggestions on Chapters to try out would definitely be appreciated. I look forward to meeting and learning from people on here. Y'all have a great day. Olis
Hail and welcome, brother! I'm finding that I am more of a smashy Marine than a shooty one. If you fancy the Raven Guard and you favour smashy types, so how about Carcharadons? Imren
if you by smashy you mean more close combat oriented, then I suggest Blood Angels (and their successor chapters) or Space wolves (and their successsor chapters) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294255-howdy-from-indiana/#findComment-3756869 Share on other sites

Apokalypsi
I was only able to try them for half a game against mechanized Orks. I got slaughtered and had to leave for family time, but even then I was only a turn away from being wiped off the board. I'm going to try them more for sure to get a good feel for them. aquamarine
Welcome on board Apokalypsi! The Space Wolves are about to get a new codex [army rulebook] and models so keep an eye on them if you like smashy CC marines. Apokalypsi
I saw that. I'm waiting for our club leader to get a copy to review it. I'm hoping the next box set, assuming GW sticks with the plan of Codex-box set-Codex, will be Blood Angels. People in my club are wanting an updated book for them.
