Tiberius Cato
Hail brothers! I recently finished what little models I have for my Shadow Wardens chapter and thought I would share them with you. Now, these are the first things i've painted ever, so any and all criticism is welcomed as I would like to be able to paint high quiality miniatures someday. And my apologies for the picture quality, my camera is on loan at the moment and I wasn't able to take the best pictures with my cheapo phone. :l http://i.imgur.com/MCJasJX.jpg Tactical Squad Aldarion http://i.imgur.com/TkGetF5.jpg Scout Squad I http://i.imgur.com/RkhF9UN.jpg Captain Sindar's Command Company http://i.imgur.com/pe8TgmD.jpg Captain Sindar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/ Share on other sites
Teetengee
I like them, but critiques will have to wait for better pics. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3758568 Share on other sites
Firepower
It's an interesting palette. I can't say anything beyond that with the low quality photos, though. I'll be all too happy to tutor/nitpick when I can see the models better ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3758580 Share on other sites
Tiberius Cato
I will be getting my camera back this weekend, so I'll try my hand at making a nifty photobox to get some quality photos for you all in the mean time. SpiralingCadaver
I like them, but critiques will have to wait for better pics.+1. The colors are nice, hard to see technique. JeffJedi
Look at the blue crate in the background. It is much clearer than the marines. You need to put the marines about that far away from the camera and retake the pics. Use plenty of light. daylight if possible. Crop the photos to get rid of the unneeded areas of the photos. Tiberius Cato
My mate managed to bust my camera, so it looks like it'll be a bit before I can get any pictures. So looks like these will serve as a teaser until I can buy a new camera (sorry new models, you'll have to wait for me to buy you :'( ). deathspectersgt7
Nice looking color scheme. When are you going to do some Eagles? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3772714 Share on other sites
Tiberius Cato
After I get myself a new camera I'm looking to buy a bike squad or two and a predator to fight alongside the Shadow Wardens. I may even get a land raider to paint up for the Eagles. I also have plans in the work of adding in representations of my other two DIY chapters to fight with them as well. I have to work out some way for my DIY chapters to all fight along eachother and bring the Eagles into the main Imperium to fight with these brothers. It'll look like an aspect warrior force a little bit! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3772726 Share on other sites

Psy-Crow
You could try putting some white paper behind your figs, it would help your camera focus allot. Its a great colour scheme and i'm looking forward to seeing more, preferably not blurry :) Keep it up :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3772760 Share on other sites
Tiberius Cato
Indeed! I'm super excited to get it done, but it will be some time before I can do it due to current complications. Edit: Perhaps I'll use my phone's camera and try out the paper thing. The quality wouldn't be very good I think, my phone's camera is only 2 mp Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3772761 Share on other sites
Psy-Crow
Use a sheet of white paper in the background, and try to get a strong light source shining from the front. Even at 2mp you should end up with something a little clearer. Best of luck Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3772773 Share on other sites
Tiberius Cato
Okay, what is an acceptable range for pictures? About a eight or so inches away? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294344-shadow-wardens/#findComment-3772788 Share on other sites
Lucien Eilam
It depends on the lens. It'll be obvious when you've got it right - the miniature will be in focus instead of a fuzzy blur.
