Vulture Proxy / Conversion / Stand In?

Got a few Valks, and was thinking about the Vulture Gunship. I have a lone Nephilim that I was considering using as the Vulture. Could be easy to retrofit some weapons onto it.

 

What do the rest of you use, if you field one at all. Personally, I dislike the model because, being an aviator, I can't figure out the setup of the darn thing....

I'll be using this and mounting two massive Gatling guns to its "cheeks" to ride into battle, with the Heavy Bolter hanging down on the chin, (or maybe rear-mounted, it never says how the HB is mounted.) 

 

I think it's a sufficiently pretty model to be preferable to the Valkyrie chassis, at any rate.

I like the vulture personally but either the dakkajet or the nnephilim work as substitutes if de-orked or marined.

here's my conversion,using the valkyrie kit,2 leman russ sponsons and a spare deathstrike missile to create the engine block.

the punisher cannon can easely be constructed from plasticard tubing.

I second the dakka jet. Makes for a great conversion if you don't add the ork bits and don't mind it looking like an old Mig. Plus can be seconded for a Avenger if you want. Doesn't really have the "hover" feel to it I believe but considering most people never actually "hover" their Vultures I'd say it would probably work alright. Depends on if you like the model though.

 

Nephilim could work I suppose it just looks a bit small compared to a Valk to me.
