Quotes from the beginning of chapters in BL books

Brothers,
We have all read BL books and are aware of the use of quotes from historical figures, from both our past and those who will make a great impression upon our lore in the future. From Sub Tzu to Narthan Dume they are all mentioned in one respect or another.
This thread is for the Frater to put across those  quotes from figures that they seem appropriate to any series either 30k/40k.
For me personally I find that the lack of Bismarck and his "Blood and Iron" speech:

"Our frontiers have been ill-designed for a healthy body politic. Not through speeches and majority decisions will the great questions of the day be decided - that was the great mistake of 1848 and 1849 - but by iron and blood."

Such words seem to define Imperial Foreign policy for me from the Unification War up until the first hints of the Great Betrayal.
What do you feel should be mentioned as a record for BL to hint or relate to?

For a chapter set during the Great Crusade:

"I come in peace. I didn’t bring artillery. But I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you censored.gif with me, I’ll kill you all." General James Mattis

For a chapter anytime in the Heresy where it is not yet clear who the traitors are:

"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet." General James Mattis

Less seriously, for anything concerning the Emperor:

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein
