Hellrender Posted August 3, 2014 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Hey, I'm not really a space wolves play (yet), but i got that stormclaw box the other day, and actually feel like painting them up. But if i do so, i want to paint them up in the right colours, so that on a later date, i can add on to them, and expand it in a proper army. I just can't really decide which one to go for. The choice is really between Bran Redmaw or Logan Grimnar. With Bran i love his rules. The Wulven part of the story is something that i got very interrested in since i read the Rangar series, and Bran Redmaws company exemplifies this for me. On top of that, i'm always a big fan of sneaky tactics, so his ambush rules fit very well. However, he is forgeworld, hasnt been updated, and is the only Space Wolf rule in an otherwise expensive book. Normally forgeworld is fine in my area though. Logan is maybe the direct opposite of him. I love the Company logo, and i love the new model (minus sled.. need better pictures/real life to make up my mind). I also really love Space Wolf terminator models. I was just wondering, how would each army look like in the end? Since the SW would be my ''cool'' army, so i plan to take the cooler miniatures (grey Hunters, Thunderwolves, Termies, Dreads, NJAL!) Which fits it better? Leif Bearclaw Posted August 3, 2014 Share Posted August 3, 2014 The only real difference between the two is the Great Compnay badge on the left shoulder pad,otheriwse, pick your blue/grey and spot colours of choice. Logan's men wear the Wolf That Stalks Between Stars, whereas Bran's symbol is a bloody wolf head. Logans would be simpler to do, because the basic SW transfer sheet you get in every box has both Logan's old, pre-Great Wolf symbol and the Wolf That Stalks Between Stars. Whereas Bran's symbol is only on the FW transfer sheet. Leif Bearclaw Posted August 4, 2014 Share Posted August 4, 2014 A bit of both. The Great Wolf's company is the Great Company he previously commanded as a Wolf Lord. In addition it contains the various priesthoods and the Dreadnoughts, although in practice they're spread amongst the Companies.
