Acolyte of Dorn
Very nice, cleanly painted and well highlighted.
Rogan
Hi Psy-Crow, a very nice Captain! The red looked a little lush from afar, but has a very nice touch to it on the third and second pictures. I do like the cloak, too, since it looks much like thick black leather - which is something most people (including myself) rarely manage to pull off. The gold looks fine, but I'd advise you to add some darklining or maybe even a wash (and maybe a final highlight). There are, however, some things about your Captain which I don't really like. First off, the pose. While the right arm suggest a lot of dynamism, the entire other part (perhaps except the facial expression) of the miniature remains still and calm. And there's the lack of an eyecatcher. Basically, the entire miniature was painted in three colours (not counting highlights and variants and such); to my mind, it would have more than sufficed to paint the rope slung across the chest bone-white or maybe even blue, just to set it off from the other decoration. And, worst off all - where's the scripture on the parchment? *evil smiley* Overall a nice job and I'm still looking forward to see more of your miniatures. Psy-Crow
@Acolyte of Dorn, thanks for the kind words @Rogan Thanks mate. You know, I actually toyed with the idea of white on the tassel, and painting the sword hilt white also to compliment, but in the end I went with black as I was worried he would start to look to busy. I also considered dark green, the same as his sash on his right thigh, but again I thought it might be too much colour. I hold my hands up on the parchment. My regular handwriting is terrible and my brush writing is even worse. With the pose there is a reason he is the way he is. This hands down one of favourite but also hated sculpts. The armour is fantastic, being a Raven guard fan the winged shoulder pad is gorgeous, but the hand gripping the cloak is, in my opinion, utterly bonkers. There is no way that a chapter master would be walking around having to hold his cloak because his tailor had left it too long. That hand really annoys me that its ruined such a lovely figure. So, in my mind, the scene set is that the guy is a neat freak, hes just noticed that there is a spot on his cloak, and in his rage he raises his sword, and screams foul language at whatever xenos is approaching the razor wire With the gold though I agree on the highlight, its been commented by a few people, but disagree on the darklineing. I think any darker and it would look a bit odd. Shading however for sure. With the highlights, this is the first time i tried a metallic which was more than base, shade, and 1 highlight. I was worried the mithril silver was too high and toned it down. In hindsight I should of left it lighter. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it helps allot, and you too my friend, your Krom is fantastic.
Psy-Crow
Painted this up for MrLee from Mr Lee's Painting Emporium. A great place for inspiration and tutorials.http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/Scuberu/BrotherKyle_zps208f0a64.jpg       Only pic I have of it. Overall I'm pleased with this guy. I had a timeframe to finish it by as I knew I was going to be meeting him at Inner Sanctum Collectables in Cambridge, last weekend. Great store, all P3 individually, full vallejo model, and loads of miniatures from many ranges. Had a blast down there. I would have liked to spend more time on him working on the details but I'm pleased with the purple and the icicles on the tree.

Psy-Crow
Finished him, took 4 evenings, not the planned three. Hope the rest will go faster as no cloak to glaze and layer. Would love to know what you guys think.      http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/Scuberu/DSC_0067_zps09039a9e.jpghttp://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/Scuberu/DSC_0066_zps2aa859d3.jpg  http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/Scuberu/DSC_0068_zps5698e2c5.jpg   http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/Scuberu/DSC00392JPG_zps3570e63a.jpg

Sothalor
The painting is great, and the lighting of the jump pack thrusters is gorgeous, but it seems a little goofy to me to be wearing a cloak and a jump pack at the same time. I just can't see that ending well.
Psy-Crow
lol you're not the first to point that out mate, tbh it never even crossed my mind when putting it together, but I now I do think about, its most likely a magical cloak made by wizards :)

Psy-Crow
Finished a Death Company test figure. Part of a squad of 10. More shots over in my wip post. Dodgy Cam pics but I'll edit them with better pics when I finish them all off.
