BlOoD_GoD
Okay so, well, first of all I haven't been here in agessss, but from my memory B&C was a very reliable, helpful, and friendly place to talk with like minded hobbyists so, why would I go anywhere else. Anyway, the question. I would like to know how the people of B&C paint their Dark Angels minis (preferably including how you do your Deathwing and Raven Wing too) as I am thinking of starting to collect again due to moving next year to the city and then I can actually utilise my army by going to local GW shops. I've thought about buying the SM Strike Force and a DA chapter upgrade sprue, so that's already almost $400, so paint-wise, I'm not looking for how to do a fancy paintjob (since I probably cant paint that well anymore anyway, been years since I did Iron Warriors), just a nice tabletop standard that wont take a billion difference shades and paints. Maybe a little highlighting etc, or washes, if there are still citadel washes in the new range I don't know anymore haha But yeah it doesn't have to be an indepth tutorial with pictures, just a brief rundown of how you do them, a short sentence or two per step, something like that. And as a side note, what do you guys use to seal the paint, just a matte varnish? I want to try use the transfers and make it so they can't rub off so any help there would be appreciated too. Grotsmasha
HERE is a VERY comprehensive guide by DA Mod Bryan Blaire. Cheers, Jono Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294796-how-do-you-guys-do-your-dark-angels/#findComment-3769978 Share on other sites
elmo
BBs guide is great.... For the transfers, I normally apply them with a decal softening fluid (revell) and once dry paint over them in a matt varnish. Try to cut as much of the clear decal off as possible as that will help when putting them onto the pauldrons. Gillyfish
My own technique is similar to Bryan's but with older paints. There is a tutorial stickied in the DA forum if you are interested, but Bryan's beats mine hands down I would say. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294796-how-do-you-guys-do-your-dark-angels/#findComment-3770268 Share on other sites
