Squark
Hello why is the drop pod a fast attack choice? Because dedicated transport isn't a force org slot. Why GW didn't create it, I don't know, but they didn't. People are now brainstorming all sorts of stupid things that would love their own drop pod and now can have them. In codex, you can use them to give deep striking wolf guard termies some much needed dependability. For allies... Centurions, codex termies, Scions... Any infantry unit can imagine can now come down turn 1 thanks to allied space wolves. Edit: Oh, before you worry, dedicated transports still exist, and are the force org type of their parent unit. So drop pods taken by Grey Hunters in a CAD still have objective secured. Heimdall Skullcrusher
The other benefit is you can just buy empty drop pods so you can get more of your filled ones to come down first turn. Possibly upgrade them to death wind launchers so they can be a nuisance as well. Lord Ragnarok
At first I lamented TDAWGs not getting DP's but now i see they have even more options (DS, DS+Beacon, FA Pod, Stormwolf) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294870-drop-pod/#findComment-3771666 Share on other sites
