Apparent 7th Grey Knight codex information

once againg I recon we all need to take a deep breath as we do not have firm information, and we know that Games work shop has on occasion sent out faulse rumers in an attempt to get every one off the main scent of the real direction a BRB or dex is going ph34r.png

we dont have long to wait and yes I do agree that some of the " Rumers " are rather worrying , but come on we are all adult enough to look at what they have done to the Orks and the wolves and go right loosing some nice bits gaining some other very cool bits no real big changes just a bit of a rebalancing , now with the way our army works and the rules of 7th we all know that a major rebalancing was required as we basicly gained a new dex through the FAQ system , now if you can prove to me that GW has furious.gif up our dex to the point of me selling my force before they even release our dex then well done you but I really think we should give GW the benifit of the doubt until we all recieve our £110 limited edition dex in the post then read it then go furious.gif that was a waste of money or wub.png I love Matt Ward and the design team and i want to have their babies ( if Matt ward is still working for GW )

I was probibly one of the main detractors of the 5th ed dex when it first came out ( mainly shouting about it being an I win dex and haiting the band wagon it created ) but since I have continuually played it I have loved some of the really fluffy and some of the really outragous lists that you could take from it , I have to say I cannot wait for the new dex to come out I may hate it I may love it i dont know but I think what ever GW will do will make them money and will probibly make new Grey Knight Players ehich to them is the main point of the game

( Also my wolves are loving the Idea of a Vindicar joining them )

While everyone keeps focusing on the fact we don't have any new models, keep in mind that if some decent armory options get thrown in, all of a sudden we have more than 1 build for each unit like we do now. Cheaper halberds is a good example on strikes, at 2 Pts all of a sudden cc strikes don't look too bad. Just a thought of optimism. Also relics/new warhead could be awesome for all we know.

I have to say the Idea of some cool new relics to play with is whetting my apitite, Strikes were never really my thing but now that they can have a ++  save  we will have to see what the Nemisis force sword dose in cc now hopefully it still adds +1 to ++ Saves  but cheap termis sound good we will have to see if the rumor about paying for termi weapons is correct hope not though would be nice to have a cheaper heavy troop choice

I wasn't a fan of the bandwagoning that happened with out 5th ed book, but at least it looks like it isn't happening again :p
I'm probably one of the few people that doesn't spam NDKs, Purifiers and Psyrifleman dreads (I've only built one out of three, only have on squad and only own one of respectively), and I'm a firm believer of the "apply GKT to infected area" approach, I usually field one GKSS squad, one unit of Interceptors with Psybolts, some form of armour (One of the 6 Land Raiders I own, or one of the three Storm Ravens) and then a bunch of GKTs as line troops.

Sounds like my playstyle is getting the least affected, but I still feel bad for those who're looking to lose their viable army builds.

to be hounst no one will loose their builds the Mordak Players acn have a GM with master crafted TH and his body guard of Termis and still deep strike turn 1

I can take an unbound list for my Dragio , 5 Paladins , 10 Termis with Psy bolts my Vindiacr and my tooled up NDK 1500 points list

the only down side is the loss of Thrawn which i did feild in fun / fluff games and who i will miss especially since i made a cool conversion job for him

7th Ed gives us all the opertunaty to try diffrent things and hey I like the Idea of a 5 NDK list or a LR Crusader list

it dose make for diffrent styles of play

All in all im not impressed, ...

Isn't it a little early to make that call? We hardly know any details yet.

I believe that is the cause for concern. Before Space Wolves were released we knew about the ram ship thingy. Before 7ed was released we knew about the psychic phase, unbound lists and numerous other changes. Yet every leaked image of GK literally shows nothing new, nothing good, what are the chances of that? I can only hope that they were not complete or there will be a bunch of very unhappy bunnies, me included.
I wanted one, but if it's just artwork I'll pass on it. If there was some extra fluff in there I'd probably spend the extra cash. I'm not that in to artwork. I'll happily pay extra for a couple of good stories, not so much for a couple of cool pictures. But if you're someone that's into the artwork thing the limited edition does look pretty sweet.

I'm happy with just having to buy a book for once and it will be just the regular one. Excited about new rules which my help or hurt us. I'm used to that, i.e. DARK ANGELS and DEldar when 6th came out and 7th didn't help, of course this is my humble opinion. I for one have never been real big into the fluff part but am anxious to read what they have come up with. Just a little over a week and we will see.

Ironically, Mordrak gave us a turn 1 Deep Strike platform that would make this new formation practical ... and now we no longer have Mordrak. Why is it that the masters of teleportation assault are so bad at it? Hopefully a Relic fixes this, but its doubtful.

GW hates deepstriking if the chaos codex is an example.

Not sure if it's been picked up on yet. But on the GW website on the slide show for new products. The description for the new strike squad box says

"Capture key objectives with a *precision teleportation* strike from the Grey Knights vanguard."

you guys think this is just fluffy meaning; or we getting more accurate too?

I would have attached the screenshot I took but I don't know how to attach pictures lol

A couple things front the new codex:

Kaldor Draigo is 245 points, which is a bit cheaper than currently.  Fluff-wise he was still dragged into the Warp, but is occasionally able to fight with his Brothers when the veil between realspace and the Immaterium wears thin.  Otherwise, he wanders the Warp, no daemon or god strong enough to defeat him.

The Aegis - based on the description, the Aegis will assist with Deny the Witch rolls, as well as avoiding Perils of the Warp attacks, nice!

I ordered my codex today, should have it friday evening according to the shop owner.

Cool beans! Then I'd hope you'll share ;-p

I will indeed share the fluff n stuff. As per the rules no exact copies but the genaral good stuff is okay I beleive.

In the preview does anyone think that the "Tesseract labyrinth" sounds very similar to Inquisitor Valeria's Hyperstone Maze but specifically for daemons?

They're already described on page 11 of the 5e version of the codex.
