skeletoro
hmm, what are assault/devastators sprues? Seems kinda odd if we get 10 bodies in a kit intended to make 5 or 6 models. Squark
The devastators sprue would be awkward because I'm pretty sure the missile launcher is on the sprue with the legs. I've never bought assault marines, so I can't say for sure, but I'd bet the jump packs and torsos are on the same sprue as something else improtant. Color me skeptical. The Space Marine Commander is pretty clearly just the regular multi-plastic kit- If it were a wolf lord or something, they'd call it that. skeletoro
Even if I accept we are getting those 3 boxes, I still suspect they'd re cut the sprues to avoid weirdness. Yes, GW have been producing kits with lots of bits for the bits box, but the skyclaw box sounds really odd. I can imagine them just reissuing a new sprue with jump packs only and packaging it with half a wolf pack though. Similar for the long fangs. But I'm not a mind reader and there's no rule that says GW has to do what I think they will! KiltedMarine
Sad Wolf. No rumors of a new Ragnar. I had so desperately hoped, even after the 'dex. Ah, well. skeletoro
I wouldn't rule out a plastic wolf lord in the box set, rather than a space marine commander. But we'll see!! Squark
If it said space marine commander, we can pretty reliably assume its the existing kit. Checking the sprues now, it looks like they could do two sprues from the devestators/assault marine box and one set of sprues from the Space Wolves box. skeletoro
Where did this particular rumour come from, though? I see a similar one on Natfka and BOLS but they don't have the specifics of the strike force or skyclaws/longfangs. frostclaw222
This rumor has been lurking just beneath the threshold of credibility and confirmation for weeks if not months now. However, I will say this: Why do a boxed set with a shedload of troops bundled up with a Commander, if you aren't sure it'll sell like hotcakes? I was expecting both Rags and Ulrik to not get new models, and for Logan to be the one to get the refresh (I was also hoping for a harnessed Iron Priest, but nobody's perfect). Look at the Reclusiam Razorback box. Now, swap out the chaplain sprue, and replace it with Ulrik. Or take a box and a half of SW troop sprues, and toss in Ragnar. It'll sell. And it'll sell like crazy. Look at Krom. Probably a third of the buzz about him was "Oh, wait. I can kitbash this into a more dynamic Ragnar." I could be totally wrong. But I believe we're not done with the SW surprises yet. We could even see another Sanctus Reach boxed set with Ragnar, for all I know.
