brother_contagion
As part of having an allied detachment of Nurgle Demons, I was wanting to use Flesh Hounds because I liked the idea of large plague ridden wolves/dogs racing up the field to devour Nurgle's enemies. The idea I had in mind was the scene with the zombie dogs: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120408153635/residentevil/images/6/62/396717-bigthumbnail.jpg So, I was thinking of using Vampire Count Dire Wolves to use, but wanted some opinions on that if Dire Wolves could pull that off. I'm not entirely sure how big the Flesh Hound models are, so I don't know if that is a good enough comparison or not. If these won't get the job done, does anyone have any other suggestions? Darth Mustard
I would try to kitbash some Fenrisian wolves with the Dire Wolves parts. If that doesn't work, I would use the Fenrisian as a base, shave some fur, created some muscule with some GS and/or some pustulence, but it is way more work that the DW :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294999-need-flesh-hound-conversion-ideas/#findComment-3774100 Share on other sites

Maybe I could try to make the Dire Wolves just look bigger, cause they do look rather scrawny for a 2 wound model =P So maybe I could get the Dire Wolves and use GS to bulk them up? I think that might work better since they're already zombie-ified! lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294999-need-flesh-hound-conversion-ideas/#findComment-3774158 Share on other sites
Kilofix
See pic WFB Chaos Warhounds vs Karanak. Karanak is just very slightly larger than the usual Flesh Hound. So Chaos Warhounds will be a bit smaller than the Flesh Hound. Darth Mustard
you could definitely add some fur, muscle, skin, pustules parts to the DW with GS to give them more volume Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294999-need-flesh-hound-conversion-ideas/#findComment-3774198 Share on other sites
Phantomzero17
Well for zombie dogs have you considered Reaper mini? Namely the first thing that came to mind were these. And they even have a 3-headed option. Otherwise they some other options under wolves and hounds. I would've done their Hellhounds for my force if I hadn't really decided I like the look of Khador Wardogs from Warmachine. I especially like the 3-headed zombie dog. Urauloth
Vampire count wolves are fine, size-wise. They're bigger than you might think, and way bigger than a chaos hound. Stick some spikes and horns on them, I say. TheJellyBeanRapist
Should give them.the angler fish type head :D thats what im trying to do atm for my hounds I've had the same idea, though my green stuff skills are Terrible tbh haha :p, I've used the chaos hounds that i had from fantasy as base models but lack the motivation to continue it haha :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/294999-need-flesh-hound-conversion-ideas/#findComment-3788379 Share on other sites

Stick some spikes and horns on them, I say. Just what I was going to say (except perhaps for the spikes part). Dire Wolves are just the right size, especially since they're sculpted to be much more "upright" than the Chaos Hounds. old git
If non-GW is OK try these; http://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=260 A bit pricey but comparable in size and more "wasted" looking. Uprising
Dire wolves from the VC line are proper size and the best choice in cost, amount, and quality. A few green stuff boil here and there will help.
