terminator question

Yes, it has been lost.

BUT, what was it in particular you liked about Wolf Guard as troops? Was it the ability to take an army composed entirely of wolf guard?

Or was it having them scoring?

Or what?

Worth noting that everything is scoring now. Objective secured is certainly very good, but there are formations and detachments that allow you to take a pure Logan wing army. You may not get Objective secured, but you get other perks! Some amazingly good perks, actually.

As an aside, it kinda bugs me when I see people (not anyone here) say that in 7th, troops are even more important because of Objective Secured. Which is so odd. In 6th, ONLY troops were scoring. Now, everything is but OS troops are trumps. That makes troops less essential than they were (but they are still a big deal).

And the whole 'troops get OS' has been replaced with 'troops get something cool' with the Space Wolves Unleashed detachment. Company of the Great Wolf takes this a step further and shows that GW are not afraid to provide command benefits to categories other than troops - now it's 'some of your units get something.'

Other than the structure of the FOC and the command benefits provided (both of which depend entirely on the detachment you're using) there is literally nothing exceptional about the 'troops' category.

The thing I loved about my Loganwing was rushing in with an army of Terminators and board my enemy fairly fast, it was just a beast of an army. I'm picking up my codex tomorrow afternoon and will be able to dig into the new rules. Looks like I'll be using a good mix of blood claws and grey hunters. Murderfang looks beast and I have drop pods a plenty to use. Oh and wolf priest looks useful now too
