Captain Artemis
Is there any good site to buy bases? What I'm looking for is a square base that is 1.5x3 inches. Also, not sure if this is the right place to ask this kind of question. If it's not then can a Mod move it to the right place? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295125-good-place-to-buy-bases/ Share on other sites
Chaeron
eBay's your best bet I'd imagine - look for MicroArts or similar companies! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295125-good-place-to-buy-bases/#findComment-3776413 Share on other sites

Grotsmasha
Dragon Forge for bases also, I pretty much use them exclusively. Cheers, Jono Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295125-good-place-to-buy-bases/#findComment-3776523 Share on other sites
Forté
That's an odd size to look for. Sounds somewhere between a Fantasy cavalry and chariot base size. What are you trying to base? netminder69
If it's not a standard size, go with Litko. They do lots of odd ball base sizes. As a matter of fact, here's your exact base: http://www.litko.net/products/Rectangular-Miniature-Bases%3A-1.5x3-in.html Now keep in mind, they custom cut these out of plywood. They aren't plastic or resin. You do get to choose the thickness from a few choices. Gurth
If you need just the one (or maybe a few), why not cut it yourself from plastic sheet? If you can’t find sheet thick enough, laminate two or three pieces. Or, as one guy in my game club did when he needed a square base for a figure from another game that he’d obtained without one: stainless steel Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295125-good-place-to-buy-bases/#findComment-3778253 Share on other sites
SW1
Do you need a texture or particular style of base in that size? Does it need a beveled edge? Would resin or another material be preferred? O ... and how many do you need? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295125-good-place-to-buy-bases/#findComment-3778381 Share on other sites
Morollan
If you manage to find a square base that is 1.5x3 inches, do let me know as it will be breaking the laws of geometry :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295125-good-place-to-buy-bases/#findComment-3778388 Share on other sites
Captain Artemis
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. The reason I need a base of a very odd size is to use them for... Toy cars .__.' Hot Wheels cars. Using them for a game I got of a wargame website, that sells rules and such.Currently using cut photocopy paper, sticking them with sticky tac. I asked the guy that made the rules on his blog, he sticky tac'ed his cars on transparent bases. He said they were custom made from Galeforce9. Gurth
So you need more than one or two? You could try going to a hardware/DIY store and browsing around, for all you know they have something of approximately the right size — or if you ask nicely, maybe they’ll saw a plate into pieces like that for you (though I suspect they might say 38 mm × 76 mm is too small). Or: you could buy a strip of wood, plastic, aluminium, or something similar of about 4 cm wide, then saw it to length yourself. Captain Artemis
Need around 10 to 20.I could place an order on Litko, they can make transparent acrylic ones, though that would take a couple of weeks, hah. Gurth
Cheapest and fastest option will be DIY. If it doesn’t have to be transparent you have plenty of choices of material; if it does have to be transparent your options are much more limited, but if you have access to some tools it’ll still be easy to make.
