A Dilemna (and another one of THOSE posts)

My primary 30k force is Raven Guard but I also want another force to either go with it or against it. I've decided that to be different from my Raven Guard, I would go with a more solid force so I've narrowed it down to four Legions. My main plan would be to make an infantry force (Foot slogging Tacticals, Terminators, and Breachers with some armor and dreadnought support)

Traitors:

Death Guard - Tough, implacable, masters of attrition and trench warfare. I love their depiction in Galaxy in Flames and in Betrayal. Their color scheme would be nice to go against the black of my Raven Guard. Not really feeling the scythes and I like using Legion specific units.

Iron Warriors - Masters of the siege, down in the dirt soldiers who are relentless in their persecution of their enemy mixed with their precision artillery strikes. The only downside I would see would be their emphasis on artillery which I'm hesitant to use just because I'm not personally big on it, however the Legion specific units are really cool.

Loyalists:

Imperial Fists - Your average joe soldier, masters of defense and boarding actions. Yellow is a good stand out from the black but also painting it can be a pain. Their legion rules support an infantry army well. Templars and Phalanx Warders are both cool and fun, Sigismund *drool*

Salamanders - Tough bastards, like fire and microwave guns, protect innocents. Cool models and special units, cool paint scheme, Mantle is an awesome piece of equipment, Legion specific units are fun and as before, look awesome.

So what say you battle brothers, I need your help. While I would prefer to have an opposing force, I also love the loyalists. So I want either your input or convince me to join your side, either way it's all appreciated.

Iron warriors or imperial fists, i'd say.

Iron warriors don't have any rules that actually aid artillery as far as i know of, and they are dead Easy to paint.

On the other hand, yellow does look good next to pure-black and imho it isn't that hard to paint, if you can overcome not winning the Golden demon with it.

I know that they don't have rules to aid artillery and that the Legions are huge and could do anything within a Legion but to me I feel that I would still feel like I want to run artillery (despite not actually wanting to) but other than that they definitely seem to be the stronger of my Traitor options

Imperial Fist yellow would look really nice next to the Raven Guard and honestly i'll probably have it commissioned because I'm a terrible painter anyway

I wouldn't automatically assume that the Iron Warriors are full on artillery. It's more full on big guns in the shape of the Heavy Support choices and that block has some of the best units available to the Legions. What's not to like about 10 man squads all pounding lascannon fire across the board ;)

Absolutely nothing is wrong with needing something dead RIGHT NOW! And I know they're not all artillery but that's just my vision of them from Angel Exterminatus. But yeah, Heavy Support is a great slot for the legions and it would be nice to get to play with it some more compared to my Raven Guard.

Add in a block of Tyrant Terminators and some breachers and you're on to a winner

Those damn Tyrants are really hard to resist. Maybe I'll just make two small Zone Mortalis forces. One for IF and one for IW and see which one pulls me more

I think when the models do finally make it out you'll land in the IF camp. Templars and Sigismund? That's got win all over it

I think that is likely how it will go. Despite wanting to do an opposing force, the Imperial Fists are just a really nice infantry force and I'll be damned if the Templars and Phalanx Warders don't draw me along with Sigismund's rules.
